In which we get updates from the lives of tropers. Kinda like Twitter with more than 140 characters, but less than a blog or LJ.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

Debating whether to play Phantasy Star Gaiden for the Ultimate RPG Project. On the downside, it's short, old and contributes little to the Phantasy Star world.
On the upside, it's short and I've been skipping a lot of non-Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest-games lately.
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!Just finished watching the recent Hyde Park Electric Light Orchestra concert.

Keep Rolling OnTalked to the librarian today. I start my volunteer work next Tuesday. Things are starting to look up!
Blog linkCongratulations! I'd love to work at a library after finishing my degree!
Tolkien Otaku: That's great.
I participated in a study group for the first time today. It was fun. I don't usually say that about interacting with humans in a non-virtual environment.
Looking for some stories? But did you get work done?
Y'all need Quake Live in yo lives.
dead devotionI live in California. We get plenty of live quakes as it is.
Speak for yourself. I've felt two earthquakes during my entire life.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseChildren.
I've slept through every earthquake I've experienced.
Blog linkSame.
It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane. It's more due to geography and less due to amount of time.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseEck, I just downloaded Miku Miku Dance and I remember how much I rather didn't like computer animation in school.
It's hard enough animating objects. Animating people is even worse. They have so many bones in them...
Still, I wanna try.
Just as long as it's not Q!Zone for Quake. That thing was a stunning display of mediocrity.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue. The most recent earthquake I remember got me to fall to the floor - and it was mostly fun.
"Did you expect somebody else?"So, I think I am going to be joining the National Guard in a few weeks. I have already talked with them but not signed anything and it will not be a problem with work either as my Manager was in the Guard full time until he retired and became Manager of the place I work.
I am in really great shape and bike pretty much every day but as those of you who have seen my picture here know I am not exactly the most muscle bound guy so I have been going to the gym and doing a lot of lifting the last few weeks.
Anyways, I am probably 90% sure I will be joining up soon.
Where I am at we have it is an MP unit and has been deployed twice since 2003 but probably will not be again as things are winding down as far as ground troops go and especially where the Guard are concerned.

Devypu's~ Big Pony :3Had my first legit tutoring session today. The kid's warming up to me now, and he's a pretty fast learner. Not sure if he fully understands quotation marks, though.
Looking for some stories? One of my friends posted funeral selfies on Facebook.

Novel progress: The Adroan (110k words), Yume no Hime (81k), The Pigeon Witch (40k)Finished The Tempest. What the hell, everyone gets a happy ending? Even Caliban? Was this written by Nega-Shakespeare?
It's usually seen as a Bittersweet Ending.
Looking for some stories?
Just got done with Rose City Comic-Con. It was absolutely fantastic, as any Comic-Con should be. Highlights include Captain America and Captain Canada posing together, the Ghostbusters stepping out of the DeLorean with the TARDIS in the background, remote controlled LEGO R2-D2, a guy with seemingly every alien parasite ever latched onto him, and a paramedic who I took a picture of despite being an actual paramedic.
Now that I realize it, the theme of this year seemed to be girls with giant swords. As I was flipping through the pictures I took it was girl with giant sword, girl with giant sword, girl with giant sword, girl with giant high impact sniper scythe, and girl with giant sword.
