Durarara ep. 7: What is in-betweening?
Something that needs budget they don't have.
Looks like Vorona found a couple of interesting things in boring ol' Tokyo.

Episode 8
My God Shizou! Who the hell pushes a door bell so hard, his finger bleeds?! Shouldn't that button be broken by now??
Masaomi is back!
… IZAYA?!? Izaya was the one who sent her?? And is she really his little sister?
Hey Celty got her helmet back.
"I named my gang after the color of my hair."
lol he won't make a move when his target is with a woman.
They were talking about Oreimo? :D
Only he would notice an all-girls school smack in the middle of the city as unusual.
Oooh so Aoba was what Masaomi meant by trouble returning.
His girlfriend can be creepy sometimes. "Maybe they all disappeared."
Awwww the little girl wears a Cetly helmet in the next episode.
Good god, that scene with Shizuo conspicuously not hulking out. Like, I'm not the type that normally notices bad animation. I didn't really see anything wrong last week, for instance. But wow. I mean, that had the potential to be a wonderful moment, but it was also a moment that lived or died be how well they did his expression, and it died in flames.
It's a shame, 'cause the plot's really started cooking.

This must be what Shirobako calls "melting".

It was only missing the tongue...
She's not his little sister: East Asian cultures just use "older brother/sister" in a generic way to refer to people older than you (but not too old, at which point it becomes uncle/aunt and is the butt of many jokes about a woman's age). In other words it means absolutely nothing and you shouldn't think about it at all. It's just a linguistic thing.
I really wonder why Shizuo didn't just break down Izaya's door. Holding himself back in front of a kid is one thing, but how could he possibly hold himself back in front of his nemesis' door?

Saving his strength for punching him?
Because he's basically trying practice some sense of self-restraint and limiting his destructive tenderinces to just his targets. This started after Slasher incident where after going he learned he control his rage to some extent after being extremely relieved that nobody died after all that. So it's bit of on-going character development for him.
This his internal monologue during that scene in the LN:
Blood was dripping from his tight fists. One could only guess the magnitude of the force with which he clenched them.
"......Stupid flea......! Going around wasting my time......!"
Veins protruded from his face as the muttering came from the depths of his lungs.
If anyone happened to have been next to him and heard him say it, they'd probably think his lungs were directly fueled by the fires of Hell.
What aggravated him was a sheet of paper pasted to the door.
[We've Moved! Find us at ——————- ]
No human presence could be felt at the place where Izaya had both worked and dwelled.
Seeing as how the notice was still on the door, this place probably had yet to attract new tenants. While Shizuo had every impulse to just kick down the door and destroy everything he could find inside, he fought desperately to swallow the thought since that would only hurt the actual owner of this apartment.
"......He wasted my time twice......I'M GONNA KILL HIM OVER AND OVER......!"
As Shizuo, whose veins were still visible on his face, thought of the face of his mortal enemy, he turned his back to the apartment door and began to walk back.

Sucks to be the good guy sometimes.
Should've checked the list.Shizuo's smile was horrendous. Err, from an animation perspective.
Mikado sure is in an interesting situation. He doesn't want any trouble, but at the same time it's his chance to become someone big and important.
Did you write all that just now?
My hope is that the scrimping on budget in the last couple of episodes was to save up for the rather epic rumble we're going to see a bit later on.
I like the sound of that. It just wouldn't be fair to Vorona if she never got to fight Shizuo.
... No, he was quoting from the LN.
Ehh. I mean, Shizuo would win because he beats everyone in the series. Not sure what's really to gained from that fight, since Vorona's already had Celty and Anri show her she's not invincible.

Vorona learns what it's like to piss yourself in terror and have an orgasm at the same time, more or less.
You don't understand. Celty and Anri are not the pants-shitting terror Shizuo is. Besides, Vorona really should experience everything Ikebukuro has to offer!
Was just about to post that too.
I'm about halfway through S1 dubbed and I was really prepared to wait a year or so for x2's dub but this just has me pumped to finish the show a bit faster.
I guess Aniplex is taking some tips from Funi.
This is the first simuldub that Aniplex, Crunchyroll and Hulu is getting. :D I may just stall my viewing of the Japanese broadcast and switch to this!
It would make sense that Kari Wahlgren would return, but I think she only does anime is it's union. And unfortunately, most anime is non-union. :( I know actors need to uphold a livelihood and that's a career that doesn't offer a ton of money to begin with..... but I'm not sure I agree with unions. They limit what you can work on severely.
And because the goal of unions is to pay the actors higher, this show will be WAY expensive if Toonami is interested to get it!
I wonder who's going to voice the new characters.
... Space Dandy changed the face of dub anime in America! Now more companies are getting them out quicker!

- Kyle McCarley (Complete newcomer to anime, which is very interesting) as Aoba Kuronuma
- Doug Erholtz as Max Sandshelt
- Lex Lang as Egor
While Vic Mignogna takes over as Kasuka while Bridget Hoffman and G.K. Bowes are Kururi and Mairu.
We'll probably get more and more of the cast down the line.

Looks like they're not bringing back Blake Lewis and Candalee Whitmore for the Orihara sisters.
Which makes sense considering the sisters only had a small part in the last Season 1 episode and no one thought a second season would ever happen.
It kinda works for the flashbacks. Gives a sense that we're watching half-remembered stuff.
The other places are less justified.
