[up]Funnily enough, I mixed Wreck-It Ralph with another deconstruction movie, Last Action Hero. It's one of my Reasons I Should't Write Screenplays.

A Superman film focusing on Kal-El and Jimmy Olsen; examining their friendship, Clark's vision of himself vs. Olsen's vision of him. Essentially half John Byrne Superman story, half serious version of Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen, allowing for a hero POV and a street level POV in an action movie.

[up]Like Cloverfield with a less annoying voiceover?

Not really, because it wouldn't have any of the shaky-cam action of Cloverfield. Sure, there'd be some on-site reporters, but most of the movie would take place in the news studio, shot on professional mounted cameras.

EDIT: Also, the premise itself would probably be something more interesting than the standard Giant Monster Attacks City plot of Cloverfield.

[up]So how much of it would be horror, and how much would be people talking about the horror, and how long would it take for the horror to bleed into the studio?

I'm not entirely sure. I think it depends on what the actual scenario of the movie is; something I haven't decided on yet.

Also, a film that is initially made out to be an inane, hyperformulaic family comedy about a (non-anthropomorphic) chimpanzee detective solving a murder case that gradually takes a turn for the dark as it becomes apparent that the animal we were made to assume was our sorta-protagonist actually committed the brutal murder in the first place and is now fucking with everyone. He kills everyone who realizes the truth, except for one character, who he frames for the murders, and who is taken away in handcuffs whilst ranting about the monkey. He is then picked up by a Hollywood studio who, inspired by the public version of these events, makes a movie much like the one you just watched, except played straight.

Okay, here's hoping other people like this idea:

A neuroscientist is framed for a murder, for which he is successfully convicted and executed. He then goes to the afterlife, which he discovers is no more just than Earth - everybody is still under the impression that he committed the murder for which he was executed, and he is promptly sent to Hell. Eventually, he is forced to join a sort of infernal SWAT team of other murderers, and here the injustice of Hell is truly allowed to shine: his team consists of himself, a depraved serial killer and rapist, a woman who killed a mugger in self-defense, a drunk driver, and a child soldier, all of whom are considered to have equally weighty crimes. The team is assembled by John Wilkes Booth and Gandhi (in Hell for not being a Christian), who act jointly as Mission Control. Their purpose is to put down Hitler, who is causing trouble in Hell's basement. After a lengthy quest to simply reach Hitler, wherein they meet all sorts of interesting characters and historical figures, and wherein the self-defense woman becomes a love interest and develops a romance with our protagonist, the team utterly fails to fight Hitler, and are all killed again. It is now that the protagonist discovers that:

  • The above was All Just a Dream, with And You Were There in full effect.
  • He is still sitting in the execution chamber with poison pulsing through his veins, anticipating death.
  • He actually did commit the murder for which he was convicted, and used his scientific know-how to erase his memories of the same.
  • It's left ambiguous whether or not an afterlife actually exists, what it's like, and what happens to him post-death.

An Amish slasher film. The Scourge of God is in full effect but modified appropriately, targeting those who secretly wear jewelry, use electricity or unapproved devices, or play musical instruments. The Final Girl traps the slasher and forgives them, resisting the strong temptation to murder them, then leaves to find help.

A fantasy adventure movie about kids defending childhood, where the villain is Roman Polanski, but, a la family-friendly media depictions of Hitler, it's never actually explained what he did, just that he's evil and enjoys hurting children and ending their childhoods.

A remake of The Secret of NIMH 2 which turns it into A Good Movie tongue

Making Twice Upon A Time into an epic trilogy of Lumage-animated films fleshing out the societies of Frivoli and the Murk, with plots as follows:

A Curious Case - Ralph and Mumford disappear on their first night delivering sweet dreams to the rushers. Scuzzbopper, Rod Rescueman and Flora Fauna are sent to find them. Could this be another sinister plot from Synonamess Botch?

The Midnight Fugue - The crew return to Frivoli only to find it ruined by the newly rejuvinated army of Murk. Our five heroes must use their courage and cunning to mount a resistance to take back Frivoli. Reveals and elaborates on many aspects of Frivoli's bloated, dysfunctional government.

A Sym-bionic Titan series finale in movie form, with or without Genndy Tartakovsky. C'mon, don't you want to see how it ends? tongue

Rampage: The Movie - A buddy comedy about three scientists who are turned into giant monsters, become friends and destroy cities together. Done in claymation.

Everything Is Terrible: The Major Motion Picture - A dramatization of the founding and rise of the venerable found footage website.

Three directors would be given the same short film script to work with and the same modest budget, and would each adapt the script independently with different actors, etc. The completed film would actually consist of all three of the adaptations played one after the other. Or alternately, you'd have different directors, actors, crew, etc adapting different sections of the same, longer script, and the completed film would transition between them. Maybe there could even be some sort of in-universe explanation for the gimmick: If it's the same scene over and over again, maybe it's one where Everyone Dies, so the implication is the characters keep reincarnating in different bodies while stuck in a "Groundhog Day" Loop. If it's different scenes in the same continuity there could be something about Alternate Universes converging.

A movie about Talking Animals trying to make a Disney-style movie about Talking Animals. However, these Talking Animal actors are just like real world movie stars, and wacky on-set hijinks ensue.

Think Tropic Thunder, but with Bambi or The Lion King instead of Apocalypse Now.

You know those scenes in thrillers where it seems like something bad is going to happen, the music gets creepy and foreboding and you're gearing up for a Jump Scare at any moment and then...

...something completely innocent happens? Like when it turns out the thing lurking in the shadows is a cat, and not s deranged serial killer. I want a whole movie filled with moments like that. It would set up Jump Scare after Jump Scare and subvert it every time, until near the end of the film it happens again and the audience assumes nothing scary will happen and THIS TIME IT DOES!

So basically the whole film is just a set up for one massive Jump Scare near the end.
