Well, according to the comments on the video on Cinemassacre, the message James alludes to, which was confirmed by James himself, was 1313DEAD. There was also talk of another secret message, which is the first letter of every one of James' hats. And it's apparently A, F, T, E, R, then the skull and crossbones hat. So After Death. I think this may reveal the truth.

Board James was an executed serial killer, who began tormenting his friends through Board Games in the afterlife, hence After Death. In other words, Board James is a Board Game Freddy Kruger.

The description for the video said that it's the final episode for the forseeable future, but if the series continued, I imagine the premise would be Board James being resurrected back into the world to continue his torment, in true horror movie sequel fashion.

Can't say I'm surprised to hear that Mike's bitching about Super Mario Maker. I find that Mike often exposes himself as an elitist snob (someone's earlier comment about him being basically a Geewuner is apt). He did an entire video complaining about the Super Guide in modern Mario games, saying it shouldn't even be an option and it requires no skill. He strikes me as someone who honestly thinks that if you can't beat a Nintendo Hard game you don't deserve to see the later parts of the game. He also didn't realize the new Mario form in Super Mario 3D World was a cat until several minutes into the game, and complained about Zelda: Link Between Worlds because it wasn't on a console and because it made you play through plot/tutorial sections instead of just letting you explore.

I'm glad he bothered to explain this, since I sure as hell didn't know what was going on.

That was an entertaining episode. An appropriate look back at the Nerd's history.

That control scheme IS god-awful, let's be honest. It's like they thought tank controls would work well for Mega Man, because they worked for Resident Evil.

Capcom games had tank controls for a pretty long time actually. Wasn't just Megaman. Onimusha, God Hand, etc all suffered in this regard.

Legends 2 is better about this since you at least have analog.

I liked this episode for the most part, but I'm not sure why the Nerd jumped straight to violence with Bugs.

He didn't even try any other method!

Based on what he said to his 2004 self, it seems like he wants to avoid making too many episodes to avoid Seasonal Rot. I'm fine with that so long as we get at least three more episodes this year; I do value quality over quantity, but I don't want to end up having to wait six or twelve months between episodes.

Man, that portion where he ended up in the middle of his Nightmare On Elm Street video gave me so much major nostalgia, as that video was the 2nd AVGN video I ever saw {With his first one being the Friday The 13th video}.

So, um... this just happened.

I would say that it's kind of a tacky move to make a six minute video to say something you could have just covered with a simple tweet, but I think he felt that he owed his fans a longer explanation, given that they know he's a huge Ghostbusters fan and they were probably eager to hear him give his two cents on the reboot.

The responses, though? Fucking disgusting. I won't post any of them here, but I will say this; to see so many people (including celebrities and editors for major publications) dogpiling on one of the cuddliest guys on Youtube just because he calmly and politely refused to see the new reboot... it just turns my stomach. Fucking animals, the lot of them.

I'm baffled at how people call him attention whore and its variant for uploading the video.

He was being calm and respectful, and who are they to tell what kind of video he can or can not make to express his opinion?

That's reactionaries for you - they never feel anything they like is worth standing on its own and always has to be defended by them.

I don't think there's anything wrong with defending a work that you like (or think you will like). I just hate it when people insult others just because they don't agree with them.

With Ghostbusters 2016 trailer, I disliked it and probably won't watch the movie because the jokes and CGI make me cringe. But its defendors just keep and keep on claiming that the trailer getting such negative reaction because the internet hates women.

I mean, I'm not going to deny, sexism on internet is indeed a very real problem. That doesn't mean that people who disliked the trailer are misogynistic.

While I don't see why James had to make a video explaining his problem with Nu Ghostbusters when he could've just tweeted it(Granted, putting up a youtube vid will likely be an easier way for his fans to see why he won't review it), I still get his point and don't disagree with him. Taking the Jay Sherman route of "If the movie stinks, don't watch it.".

He probably kept being bugged by it because that's one of the things he's known for being a huge fan of, outside of Godzilla movies.

@Scott: It's kind of hard not to bring up SJW's when they're the primary reason why James is getting hate for that Ghostbusters video.

Has anyone seen the video where he talked about the new Godzilla trailer? It's both very interesting and amusing, especially if your a big Godzilla fan like me.
