Oh, I really don't want to start this but what's your main objection to fanfiction, Sabbo? There are plenty of good ones out there.

By and large good fanfic still has trouble stacking up against good everything else.

Though I'd rather read bad fanfic than Twilight.

Because they either do or can potentially conflict with canon.

But that's the whole point with fan fiction; if you don't like how something developed in canon, you write your own version. Or maybe you just want go off on possible tangents that never made it into the official cut.

Or to sate your incurable need for a sequel.

Writing fanfics is something I do to envelop ideas which I think are good, but I will sadly never see them in canon.

For instance, my FSN crossover fic will NEVER happen outside of a fanfic. So Yeah.

I realize that that's the point, but it becomes a problem when you begin to confuse what is canon and what isn't.

Rewatch / reread the source material. Not only will you get a clearer picture of what's in canon and what isn't, you might get a few more ideas for fanfics too.

Ugh. I definitely do not have time to write a bazillion fanfiction pieces.

And I still think I'd get confused; it's just how my mind works.

Kodomo no Jikan as a dating sim... Except you get to play one of Rin's classmates. Who may or may not go for the teachers (males included) himself. Hilarity Ensues, especially as Rin doesn't even notice his existence!

Now there's an idea...a visual novel with the Toy Ship as its main gimmick. Preferably "clean."

The Teacher. A dating sim must necessarily be in a High School environment.

Which brings me to the question... is the main character supposed to be male or female? or do you get to choose at the beginning? Because it would seem that gender is irrelevant for love interests.

^ But TS&D is about many people, while a Dating Sim would be about one person picking between all of the tropers.
