I'm usually on the dub side. Even if it's a train wreck (lookin' at you affectionately, 90's Sailor Moon dub!)

Reading Ultimax reviews...and I'm only keeping an eye on one thing, the plot. Almost all of them note that the plot is probably the weakest out of a Persona game. Of which, quite a lot of us already know about.

That's a shame, since I rather liked Arena's plot.

Of course, Arena's plot was more of a personal thing centered around one character's development, while Ultimax goes into major stakes raising and cosmic whatever that the mainline Persona games go into towards the end of their runs. Quite a shift.

It's probably going to feel at least a little better if we think of it as a second half instead a sequel.

It at least isn't X Detective-bad, y'know?

I sure said that!

Also doesn't help that the final boss of both story modes not the true ending which is Sho is basically Not-Nyarly instead of its own character.

Saw this on another site.

1, 2, 1G, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 2G, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 3G, 15, 16, 17, 4G, 18, 5G, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 6G, 25, 7G, 8G, 9G, 10G, 11G, 26, 12G.

Thats the order of the original series and this series if you want the full story and the new episodes thrown in between the main story episodes.

You'd have to do a LOT of editing/rearranging for the events the two animes share (such as opening episode of Narukami's arrival up to his awakening of Izanagi, the battle with Adachi/Ameno, and the True Ending), as while they cover the same events, they do so differently (in the case of Adachi and the True Ending, very differently).

The bulk of the Golden animation can be wedged between episodes of the original, but the plot important stuff is near incompatible without editing and fudging both shows.

The two of them are likely just alternate timelines of the game rather than both being part of the same timeline.

Plus the Accomplice Ending is getting an episode, so that could possibly be the first playthrough for Yu in Golden the Animation.

@melon -hopps over from the P 4 GA thread- by this he means the Anime Series, not Arena like I had originally thought.

It wouldn't be the first time.

Hell, it wouldn't be the first time with the same two characters. Bosch voiced both in the Animation dub (If I recall, it's what lead to him actually developing his separate voices for them, as he admitted that he used the same voice for them in the game).

Bosch is a good voice actor overall who can do more than one character type... But all of his characters yell in the same, very distinct way.

So, the 360 version of Ultimax won't have the new lobby mode.

Hmm. Well, most of the Persona fanbase would be in the PS 3. Though maybe not the fighting game fanbase. I dunno. And it is the one that Arc System/Atlus developed for.

The 360 version is almost certainly going to be thought of as the "alternate" version, if that makes sense. As I recall, a lot of Japanese-developed games receive 360 ports internationally but are developed for the PS3 and are released exclusively on that system in Japan.

[up][up]The general fighting game community uses 360s most of the time, though "anime" fighter communities (Most ArcSys Games, Melty Blood, Arcana Heart, UNiel, etc.) tend to be PS 3 centered for [up] that reason.

Plus, it may not have been technically feasible. 360 discs have less space than Blu-Rays do, and even without that issue, I'd be surprised if MS wouldn't try to shoehorn their Avatars into it.
