Read it. And I sure hope they will soon start doing something with the concept.

^Ditto. Using a phrase from Bakuman, it is so "non-mainstream" that I don't know what to expect or even if I actually like it. Going to see where it is going for a while longer.

I can say one thing though, there is going to be more then one zombie girl before all is said and done. Might not take much longer ether.

Rea's father's insane... but properly genre savvy. Can't kidnap your daughter? Kidnap the boy she's living with. Either way you'll get both coming to your house.

I'm of the opinion that he's zombified himself or something. Maybe.

Man, did that ever come out of left field.

Its been out for a while, but the thread was dead and lost so I did not post it.

Anyway I suspect that it will have something to do with his grandfather's experiments and was genetically passed down to him. Absolutely no evidence, but no matter what the next chapter is going to be interesting.

PS: High HSQ, that is for sure.

Whatever it was, it came WAY too unexpected.

@ T-bone: I thought so too. It'd certainly add an unique dynamic if he was looking to perfect the formula for both of them.

You know,in my original post I was about to say her father had crossed the Moral Event Horizon,but decided against it as he hadn't done anything to truly deserve that description.

Needless to say I had only started reading that chapter.

^It's totally the sort of thing Chihiro'd do, too. I mean, really, he's a massive Nightmare Fetishist and hardcore zombie otaku. The only thing better for him than having a cute zombie girl around would be zombiehood of his own.

^I would say it is more likely to be disturbing than squicky. And it has not done anything that depressing. Yet.

The incredibly blatant implications that Rea is being sexually abused by her father don't qualify as depressing?

Point. Though it's 'only' inappropriate pictures so far.

I read it the moment chapter 8 came out because I was looking for more zombie manga after Ho TD and a friend told me about it. He said "A guy likes zombies and tries to zombify his cat. It works, and shit happens."

Very promising so far and it comes with awesome lines (I'm not into living chicks!), but chapters are coming out slowly and it's sad. It could become a must read.

Chapter 9

This is remarkably compressed for manga. In one chapter Chihiro's declared he's "half-zombie" because Rea bit him,Rea prevented her father from finishing the job by pulling the sword out of Chihiro's stomach,who delivered a Whoopi Epiphany Speech to Rea's father,who gives approval for his care before the boy collapses from the blood loss anyway.

OK. That "problem" solved. Looks like a Childhood Friend/Marriage Promise issue will come up next.

Anyone taking bets on whether or not the Unlucky Childhood Friend will become a zombie? Or maybe a better question would be how long it will take for her to become a Zombie. Sort of like how the question in Nana To Kaoru is "When will Nana's classmate/friend become involved in the breathers now that she thinks something is going on?"

Wow, that WAS amazingly compressed. They completed pretty much the main story arc up till now. And replaced it with some cookie cutter explicit love triangle.

I am seriously dissapointed. Hope that it will get better.

Now that you mention it, I wonder if that is what a majority of the (paying) readership wants. It is quite possible that they are tired of the weirdness and want something a bit more normal next.

Chapter 10 is out. Here.

^It seems they have... well,not replaced,but bolstered the love triangle with a new plot. Eeeenteresting.

All I can say at this point is that I haven't given this series up yet. But they sure are moving fast. Wonder how long they can keep up this pace.

Looks like they're heading for three/four volumes' worth at this rate.
