I just want to say that I instantly fell in love with this show, and i declare my love for it in defiance of all the Stop Having Fun guys who are fangasming over the Dark Knight movie. So anybody want to discuss the show or predict who will appear next? (personally i'm excited that they're finally giving Guy Gardner his Due as Green Lantern...

Say what? I haven't seen this series (and I did love The Dark Knight) but I fail to see why these two interpretations of The Bat are mutually exclusive.

Same here. Granted, it does nip a little on my continuity pet peeves (Paco KNOWS Jaime's the Blue Beetle, dammit! He helps him fight crime with his holy Stick of Awesome.), and it can get pretty cheesy - but then something awesome happens onscreen, and I'm rendered an pile of incoherent glee.

Hey everyone! Mia love this cartoon. Don't you Mia?

Mia says yes.

Mia also loves the Adam West version. She's a Silver Age girl! Aren't you Mia?

Mia is smiling, but doesn't respond.

Get used to it being in a different continuit, Sparky. It won't bother you so much.

...Or maybe that's just the Transformers fan in me talking. ^_^; (For those not in the know, the Transformers franchise has like a bazillion different continuities.)

Oh man, the latest episode is the best yet. The Owlman/Batman fight is amazing, and there are some great lines that, I'll type them here but I can't really convey how great they are:

"It's like looking into a funhouse mirror...of evil!"

and

"Who is this guy?"
"I'm Batman!"
(was hoping for "...and I can breathe in space!" to follow that, but nope)

I love it - but then it had Plas'! And the new Beetle! And the OLD Beetle!

Also, the very first episode has a teaser with two hunks in tights in a bondage-death trap - bickering like an old married couple while they free themselves and defeat a silly but glorious villain... *blushes*... Its not like I ever shipped *anything*, and especially not Batman/Green Arrow, but...

It's aight, granted I've only seen a few episodes. It's actually a little fun to have a less angst-y batman.

So far, I've only seen one episode, but I must say it looks promising. I've had quite enough of that Darker and Edgier crap, so this seems to be a welcome change of pace.

What I like is that it isn;t Darker and Edgier, but doesn;t go into the over-the-top Camp of the Adam West version, either. And the fight scenes are really well done... Batman vs. Owlman is my current favorite.

Second season premiere came pretty quickly. It was pretty meh, although depressed!Aquaman is just so sad, his turnaround, even if predictable, was very welcome.

And that was a waste of Question.

Aquaman mopes just as melodramatically as he normally boasts. :) But him *absentmindedly drawing a sad smiley with his foot* while Batman is talking business (ie, heroics) with him...

One thing I like much with this: very little time is spent on origin stories, backgrounds and explanations. Red Tornado is a red robot that whirls very fast and wishes to be more human. That's all you need to know, really.

I really enjoyed the Deadman episode. Poor Speedy got the Butt-Monkey treatment with everyone possessing him.

While I will always be a creature of the Timm/Dini DCAU, I am not immune to Brave & the Bold's charms.

The next episode, with the return of Babyface and his girlfriend Manface, Blue Beetle's crush on the Huntress, and the Calculator as a 40-year-old virgin in his mother's basement ( to be voiced by Armin Shimerman; Principal Snyder seems totally appropriate for this role ), sounds like it will further confirm why I love this show.

"It's like looking into a funhouse mirror...of evil" may be the best Batman quote of all time, along with the Goddamned Batman and "Bees. My God."

I'm impressed by how touching the scene in Dawn of the Deadman with Bruce being tempted to go into the light was, considering that this is meant to be the less angsty Batman. Poor guy. At least he now knows that when he does die, his parents will be waiting for him.

Also, I think Gentleman Ghost is now one of my favourite villains.

^Best crossover ever. The dialogue between Sherlock Holmes and Bats was just funny.

If there's an episode where the Question actually does stuff, I'll watch it.

Well, they recently listed what the remaining episodes for the season are, and the finale is titled "The Fate of Equinox!" so hopefully Question'll show up in that episode. I imagine it'd be the "urban shaman" version of him, because it seems like a good fit and hasn't been done.

Also: I really, really want Cassandra Cain to make an appearance. I'm pretty sure she's Batgirl, because Calculator's appearance implies that Barbara is Oracle.

Menace of the Conqueror Caveman. Oh god, Booster!evil grin

Batman's role in this is so often The Only Sane Man, since he isn't the brooding Dark Knight and don't seem to have as many issues in it.

It remains my favorite version of him just because of that; the guy who dresses up as a flying insectivore to deal with childhood trauma is the sane and reasonable guy.
