Yamakan will unblock people from his twitter if they donate to his new film.
First victim blaming, now bribery. Man, this guy has fallen low.
Watch SymphogearShould have stuck to making more Senyuu shorts.
At least it had the decency to have Take That! at him with Jouji Nakata as the Narrator telling us to get sharp implements to hunt down Yamakan.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. But, alas, all he does now is act like a douchebag whenever he can.
Watch SymphogearDid he also declare that "anime is dead" after not getting his way on something?
Yep, and while previous people have said so, (Yoshiyuki Torino and Hideaki Anno among them) at least they were successful.

Watch SymphogearTrying to get back into anime after a pretty long hiatus.
Shows/movies I'm checking out:
- Tatami Galaxy
- Mononoke
- Boogiepop Phantom
- Karas
- The Angel's Egg
- Belladona of Sadness
- The Skull Man
- Infinite Ryvius
Also planning on revisiting some other series I have not seen in several years such as FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain and Casshern Sins.
Would highly recommend this season's Suka Suka after you finish.
Watch SymphogearBased on those I would rec Bakemonogatari.
Suka Suka needs a page, but I have no idea how to make one.
Watch SymphogearHonestly all it takes is you clicking the red link and just start adding content. And then add the entry to the Anime Index.
Started, thanks.
It needs some help, as I tried to use the image uploader to upload the first LN's cover image, but ti didn't show up.

Watch SymphogearAfter you upload the image, you have to copy the template it loads up and paste it into the edit page.
Ah, gotcha.
I was so used to Image uploader being its own tool, but attaching it to the edit page makes sense.
Watch SymphogearImportant question: are there any bone-worthy harem protagonists?
What I mean by that is, like, most protagonists get the ladies because they're super the sweetest. That's the fantasy being conveyed, the average totally reclusive Japanese high school student will totally get the girls for real if he's nice. Problem is, bedding with Keitaro or Raku doesn't excite any normal person, because their personalities and resumes are unremarkable at best. Are there any harem protagonists that anyone finds attractive, cool, and charismatic enough to kinda justify all the girls fawning over them?

"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018Well Keitaro was supposed to be that way and far from adorkable, post timeskip though he had the whole school professor look going which in work was supposed to be quite hot.
Raku was actually supposed to be quite the looker I thought.
Kaoru in Ai Yori Aoshi was supposed to be quite the looker too...
Girls Bravo and Negima's leads were lookers but specifically of the shotacon-like variety, if you are into that.
Based on the amount of fan art... Athrun Zala of Gundam Seed is quite the looker.
The M Cs of Persona 4, Persona 3 P 3 P and Persona 5 have quite the following.

Akira from P5 was indeed supposed to be a charismatic, seductive rebel, especially compared to the very buttoned-down Yu from Persona 4. A number of action-harem protagonists are also a little more than bland, scrawny dweebs, seeing as their role in the plot requires a bit of assertiveness, proactivity, and physical presence. Akuto from Demon King Daimao is a good example, as our page image attests.
What's precedent ever done for us?That kind of thing was thrown out the window for the anime, I mean the King's game...
I can totally get behind that demon king, if he looks like that.
@memers: When was Raku ever mentioned as a looker? I can't remember an instance off the top of my head.
"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018Iirc it was an early chapter and his family rep drove people away.
Anyways as a counterpoint, how many of the haremettes are way out of the guy's league too? When you look at Love Hina you got 2 really young girls, a girl who will pull a sword on anyone who hits on her, Opaque Nerd Glasses girl, and an Idiot From Osaka who likely sleeps around anyway.
Mutsumi is probably the only one before it all started and well she had brain damage.
Sure Naru got a lot later where she was considered hot but that was way after the relationship already formed, the anime even added a rich rival and made her an idol. In the manga both of them considered each other out of their league after the time skip too.

So I finished Charlotte today and I felt like just like with Angel Beats, it would have been better if it were two cours instead of one. The pacing was super hectic here, with tone going from a "monster of the week" series, to the drama surrounding Yuu's little sister, to international terrorists getting thrown into the mix.
So I just finished Mononoke (the 2007 anime, not to be confused with Ghibli's Princess Mononoke).
The audiovisual experience of it was definitely the tour de force, however I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the stories themselves. The last one (the bakeneko arc) in particular was pretty satisfying, and definitely ended the show on a high note.
Would definitely recommend it if you want to see a weird horror anime with excellent art direction.
Will be watching Boogiepop Phantom next, I have the Mononoke director's other big series Trapeze ready to go but want a little bit of a break.
Speaking of which: it's really weird to think of Boogiepop as something that originated as a series of light novels. It's so completely different from what we associate with them now, with its Lain-esque disturbing atmosphere and adult themes and content.

Found an interesting article on why translations of anime to tend lean on the literal side.

It's one thing to make a spectacle. It's another to make a difference.Essentially it's just a byproduct of the ridiculous purism the anime community has of translating things to be " Truer to the Text " even when it's not actually so or is an outright detriment to the experience.
Its more of a reaction to censoring, dumbing down, attempting to be 'hip' and a large amount of cultural fascination on the part of fans.
Things like in Gabriel Dropout with Vigne going "Through the Dark Lord. Amen." instead of "Itadakimasu", it is completely out of character for her and devils. Them inserting demon and angel related puns where there wernt any and using "Throw a homer, will you?" in a really awkward place are just dumb attempts to add flavor that just fall flat.
