but i wanted to like it ;_;
Well, or maybe I just had too high hopes for it. Maybe I was expecting quite a lot, especially what with the score being done by Yuki Kajiura.

Maybe it's that you just weren't into it but continued anyway? Or maybe it just wasn't your thing to begin with.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."He directed the High School of The Dead dub, and it's my firm belief he actually elevated the material. Allow me to explain:
HSOTD is essentially a boilerplate zombie survival story with a lot of ridiculous and often gross fanservice tacked on, and some weird hard-right political stuff for good measure. Foster's dub added gratuitous swearing, more grossness and out-of-place pop culture references. Also, Foster can't actually direct, so the voice acting itself sounded pretty bad. This brought it in line with the actually content and for me at least, it was reasonably entertaining.
Turned it off after the loli peed herself and the bullet dodging boobs, though, it was just too much.

you can't be serious.
Why do people assume I'm lying about stuff like this? Video is from the dub of Guin Saga.
Yeah, thanks. I meant what did he direct?
I saw one show in there I saw that wasn't a comedy: Penguindrum.
Aside from one pretty bad line delivery to what's-his-face with the red hair and the inclusion (retainment?) of "Let's destiny!", something I assume was originally Gratuitous English, I thought the dub was decent. And plus Penguindrum is kinda ridiculous anyway.
As an aside, I will say, though, that unlike Revolutionary Girl Utena, its dubbing doesn't really add to the surreality of the show. Probably because it's So Okay, It's Average at worst, while Utena's dub was pretty wooden and stilted, making the whole thing look (even more) like a stage show, working in its favor.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."Kamen Rider Gaim is probably ironically better then Madoka because it actually was made with kids in mind, thus making the grim dark not as obvious at first.

Watch SymphogearCrowdfunding to offset simulcast cost? Damn that's a good idea. They don't want to use the Daisuki business model.
I had no idea Kami Nomi had a dub. Hasn't come up on any streaming site I frequent.
JesuOtaku spent eight minutes on her HSotD review just to talk about him and his modus operandi. She concluded that he could do fine if he was kept on campy, silly stuff (or the downright bad like Ghost Stories). Guess this resolves that question.
A blog that gets updated on a geological timescale.That's... a long time. How long is the review?
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."Hmm. I'll need to get to that after I eventually watch it.

Sentai usually doesn't put their dubs up on TAN for free (those that are can just be found on Hulu anyway), not even the dub previews nowadays for money reasons. :(
After the A-1 Picture, we have another unconfirmed overwork related animator death. Stroke caused by stress.
Man, Aniplex had to cancel something like 8 DVD/blu-ray releases!! Not good news.
because of the loss of 1 guy?.....er, I can see why he died.
..... what?
Who?
What happened?
Aniplex is separate from Sentai. Besides, I doubt he directed the dub of the shows that are on the canceled DV Ds.

Let's hope it won't be as underwhelming as the Index anime. Or worse...

To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."Kuiba 3 completely flopped.
Completely expected. Your target audience is a niche audience among an already niche market.
What's a Kuiba 3?
An animesque film with a target audience of anime audience that accepts animesque as an art style independent of political boundary. From the Internet Backdraft regarding RWBY alone you can see now niche that audience is, much less from an industry that is weak and unstable.
It was released in China alone, as far as I can tell. Its failure may tell us about the Chinese market, but not so much about the market for animesque more generally.
(Also, I think the backdraft with RWBY was more with how little it had to offer beyond a mass of clichés; those targeted by the style were those who had seen it all already.)
A blog that gets updated on a geological timescale. My comment is more directed toward the Chinese market alone, yes. The Chinese market is more rejecting toward an art style that relates to the Axis power, the Western market does not. But we still saw the RWBY art style classification catfight.
Maybe it's different in other parts of the web, but as far as I've seen, RWBY's art style is the one thing that doesn't get much criticism
i wasn't very impressed with the madoka dub, from what little i heard of it.
i wouldn't overthink it though, dude. i like madoka, but it's not like everyone has to like everything.
