So, when do you reckon we will get more info on 3.0? I think soon, since it is only a month and a half away.
Side note: I wonder if at the end of the series, since it is a Reconstruction, there will be an awesome Mecha battle with attacks and scenes similar to G Gundam?
Or Gunbuster, considering Hideaki Anno's first series as a Director, it's obvious he loves the Super Robot Genre as it already is as much as his series Desconstructed it. It's why he wanted Evangelion in Super Robot Wars despite the executives at Gainax thinking Chibi Eva-01 would ruin it's image, and the moment Gurren Lagann was able to join, he asked the guys at Banpresto when it could be in a game.
Or maybe all the main character absorb their Eva's powers and fight in space by themselves.
Watch SymphogearYou're all wrong - it will end in a blaze of surrealism and utter chaos; the things the original NGE could only dream of achieving. Evangelion 3.0 will be - I'm calling it right now - Adolescence of Evangelion.
Score by JA Caesar.
So while the original was basically a "screw you" to the Super Robot genre, this one is a love letter to it.
Screw you Super Robot genre...........but still buy Asuka keychains.
"Eratoeir is a Gangsta."While Rebuild is nowhere near as dark and fucked up a Deconstruction as the TV series, I think people are forgetting that it still has plenty of dark and disturbing moments.
With the exception of Asuka's new introduction fight, pretty much all the fights against the Angels are basically what you'd expect against Eldritch Abominations: Nightmarish and full of foreboding.
So, I'm thinking it's going to get worse before it gets better. If it gets better. And if they do get a happy ending, it'll probably be less standing triumphantly than people picking themselves up having endured the dark.
On the subject of Rebuild 3.0 specifically - In a four act structure, Act 3 is classically when things go from bad to worse. We'll have to wait for 4.0 to find if Anno's going for Good End or Eo E again. (I wouldn't be surprised if Anno fucks with people by making 3.0 end all Eo E-ish, before a more hopeful final ending)
The owner of this account is temporarily unavailable. Please leave your number and call again later. No, no we will not. And Asuka is a gender flip of the original Ace Pilot of Super Robots anyhow (Tetsuya from Great Mazinger).

Watch SymphogearThat would be AWESOME!
And considering the trailers we have gotten for 3.0 so far, I wouldn't be surprised if it happens.
It will need some JAM Project, to go with it:

Watch SymphogearQuick question: I'm planning watching all the movies. Which order are they in?
The movies don't have any Anachronic Order at all.
EOE is after the original series, though.
Watch SymphogearSo I can watch them in any order, but start with EOE?
Watch 1.0 and 2.0 in order.
EOE is mostly the real conclusion to the original series (What happened in the physical world during the last 2 episodes of Evangelion).
Watch SymphogearI think I can do that.
Watch 1.11 and 2.22 for bonus scenes.
My President is Funny Valentine. The non-Rebuild Evangelion movies are Death/Rebirth and End of Evangelion. Death/Rebirth is a Compilation Movie of the original anime series and also a preview for End of Evangelion. End of Evangelion is the actual ending to the anime series.
The two Rebuild movies are Alternate Continuity to the original anime.
Fun Fact: It's about a month and a half until Rebuild 3.0 comes out.
It only took them... what, 3 years?
Considering Hideaki Anno loves Doing It for the Art......
Watch SymphogearI always recommend watching the original series and End Of Evangelion before watching the Rebuild movies.
Rebuild 1 is very accessible, but Rebuild 2 is incomprehensible without watching the original series... and reading half the internet explaining the original series.
Consider the fact that they don't really have a plan for these movies...
What do you mean? I'm sure they have an outline; this isn't gonna turn into a Code Geass-style clusterfuck.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.Reading the articles closer, it's less that they didn't have a plan, and more that the plan changed during development. Which isn't a bad thing.
Have you guys ever heard this? It's done by the same person who sung Komm Susser Tod, Arianne Schreiber, and it was intended to either be in the movie alongside Komm Susser Tod or be the song that plays over Instrumentality. It was recorded alongside Komm Susser Tod over a period of 2 days.
It's a Lyrical Dissonance song which is... actually fairly different from its sibling. It has a melancholic feel to it, but Arianne sings it pretty sweetly as well. It's only been featured in 2 albums: Refrain of Evangelion and S2 Works.
A link to the Instrumentality scene with the song dubbed over Komm Susser Tod, because I know some of you might go running around like headless chooks trying to find a similar video. It's the best I could find, but it has lag and there are several jump-cuts I'm afraid.

...I dunno abot Sachiel. He seems a bit like a child to me; he looks so adorably confused when the JSSDF are bombing the crap out of him ^-^
As for Zeruel, Ax-Crazy Blood Knight.
