If anyone's taking requests I vote for carving the helmet of the berserker armor. anyone agree?

It was more like a large hunk of iron in the shape of a sword.

...... Uhnf.

That's...

Well, considering how often that appears on those fake 'new anime season' charts, it should be interesting to see how many people think it's fake when they see the chart this appears on. It's a strange move, giving a show a new chance 14 years after the first series ended, and I have to wonder what motivated it.

Also, SQUUUUUUUUUUEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

^^ It's not very likely to be a sequel to the original anime series, too much was censored to do that.

I'm thinking it'll be an OVA series ala Hellsing Ultimate, otherwise it'd run in to the same problems with censorship.

And that would be awesome.

@Gilphon: Actually, it's only been twelve years since the original ended (the series went from 1997-1998). And I think most people would hear this by the time the chart comes out, which will probably be a while since this is just an announcement.

@Billabong: What censorship problems? Yeah, an OVA series might work better given the manga's schedule, and I doubt it will be a sequel specifically to the anime, but there's a very good chance of it either coming in from where the first left off or covering the parts the first anime did fairly briefly like with Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

I hope it doesn't take liberties with the storyline ala Hokuto No Ken OV As.

^^ Wyald, the Black Dog Knights chase, and pretty much everything involving Ganishka was, or would have to be in the latters case, censored for a TV release, hence my hoping for an OVA series. It's not particularly fun to watch (read), but it is relevent to the story.

Also, there was waayy to much modification of the story in the original for them to continue it, the Skull Knight, Rosine's early appearence, Puck, all left out, and it opens with Griffith stated for be king of Midland by the dude in the bar, which throws the entire timeline out.

But i agree it's not unlikely they start just after teh eclipse, even if it would have to be an alt continuity.

His name is Guts, the Black Swordsman, a feared warrior spoken of only in whispers. Bearer of a gigantic sword, an iron hand, and the scars of countless battles and tortures, his flesh is also indelibly marked with The Brand, an unholy symbol that draws the forces of darkness to him and dooms him as their sacrifice. But Guts won't take his fate lying down; he'll cut a crimson swath of carnage through the ranks of the damned — and anyone else foolish enough to oppose him! Accompanied by Puck the Elf, more an annoyance than a companion, Guts relentlessly follows a dark, bloodstained path that leads only to death … or vengeance.IN THE GRIM DARKNESS OF GRIMDARK THERE IS ONLY GRIMDARK

Fixed. While it does set the mood somewhat accurately, especially for the part of the story where he abandons Caska and obsesses only for his revenge, it is incredibly inaccurate.

If I don't get my babyeating orgy fest I will SCREAM BLASPHEMY, MADNESS HERESY!!!

Looks reasonably accurate to me as cover blurbs go, although it does suggest to me that it'll be following basically the same plot structure as the manga.

I will keep my soul in a place out of sight, Far off, where the pulse of it is not heard.

^No, that is a cover blurb on the Dark-Horse published volumes, which the site just put up for the sake of giving some information on what Berserk is about. I'm pretty sure Raw Power is just saying he doesn't find those blurbs that accurate.

Which means we're at least getting Lost Children and Millenium Falcon animated.grin

I laughed pretty hard when he was first introduced. I mean, his crew were all denying that they were pirates, and then... Bwahahahahaha. Berserk doesn't get that funny very often.

He doesn't seem quite as funny now that he's all... tentacly. I'm still not really able to take him seriously as a villain, though.
