A Transformers Thread

I want a Sixshot arc where he's more sympathetic. He can't go up against Metroplex, Metroplex has Plot Armor, Sixshot can become a Mauve Shirt at a moments notice.

I mean yeah he's got a badass name, but Megatron, Shockwave, and the Phase Sixers are the names that strike fear into everyone. Deathsaurus is on the importance of Turmoil. Threatening to some yes, and even without the reputation he's formidable with the troops behind him, but there's enough armed Cybertronians to deal with his <500 soldiers, so his real threat would come from the War World. Besides he's not written as a straight villain in IDW so from a story POV that'd be a weak turn to make him a full bad guy.

God I hope not. Coz leaving narrative up to a popular vote doesn't make good stories.

Similarly, if the prize is a toy, seems weird Megatron is in the poll. He's fucking Megatron, they'll give him a toy anyway.

Seen it. I like the Power Masters, but not the white door covers (they seem to slip over his existing nipple doors). I know it's more toy accurate but I don't like it. I'd like to see what he looks like with the power masters but with the original, uncovered doors.

I do want all those base mode guns though.

A "Meh"? Really? I thought it'd lead to a "Mass "Oh, Crap!"" considering he still has a legion of Cons at his side and his name alone should warrant a soiling in someone's pants if you catch my drift.

A legion of cons that could barely overtake a dozen Autobots and needed 2 phase sixers to get that far even.

Deathsaurus would get murderized the second the met a combiner. And thanks to Combiner War you can't swing a stick without hitting one anymore.

Did you ever think your Legends!Chromedome could use a stylish visor?

Or maybe your Legends!Hardhead could do well with a faceplate/visor combo?

You ever thought your Legends!Brainstorm just had a creepy face?

Well Takara's got a set for you...provided that you got the money to pony up for it.

It's weird coz you'd expect Takara's versions to have the Headmasters versions of the character's head (ie: Brainstorm having a face with a mouth).

(Though Legends hardhead does already come without a faceplate so I guess Japan's giving people the choice)

They do? LG Brainstorm was sold with the mouth, and this pack contains the Headmasters as released in America: i.e. Brainstorm with the faceplate.

Highbrow's not there, but Hasbro and Takara's designs aren't majorly different. Bigger visor for sure.

I wish this was separate. I want that Chromedome head for my Hasbro Chromedome. The painted Headmaster body is nice.

The guys at Seibertron.com discuss this among other things.

You guys really think James Roberts will write Lost Light with Pax Cybertronia in mind and will try to make Megatron go bad again?

That would undo a whole lot of character development.

I wouldn't be surprised if it happened, just really disappointed.

Kinda hoping Shockwave gets it. I think it would be interesting to see Shockwave Prime and how that cold logic might be softened with Matrix wisdom.

Megatron Prime would be a decent way to show how he's grown and changed with his time as an Autobot. Given the number of images of Megs at the Lincoln Memorial, a Lincoln quote seems appropriate here: "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power. "

Well, they did retcon that whole issue to just be a vision of Ironhide's and not a literal prediction of the future, so... who knows?

As for the poll, Arcee/Primal/Star Saber all the way. Star Saber is definitely worthy of Primehood - after all, he never stole food or wet the bed, even if he was a kid like us.

• Ultra Magnus for Honor,
• Unknown Evil/Deathsaurus for Chaos (Optimus Primal was really tempting, but still really OOC since he was a big fan of Optimus Prime, right?),
• and Star Saber for Order (good thing this Star Saber's based on his Victory self rather than his IDW self, am I right?)

And apparently, we can do another vote tomorrow? Anyone else gonna try that?

I again wanna know what's the purpose of this vote. Like, what am I voting for.

I tried to vote and had that exact same problem. I wondered if it was just me.

The ! seem to give you info. You're also supposed to pick 3, one from each category. I chose Arcee, Deathsaurus, and Shockwave.

There's no ! or anyone to vote for. Checked on three devices. There's a ? in each category that leads to a blank section telling you to choose your candidate for this group, but with no options.

EDIT: had to open an icognito window for it to work.

So Primal is apparantly a yet-unseen IDW version since he's the "King of planet Eukaris". But Star Saber is clearly not his IDW self.

Yeah, it was actually a ?. Sorry. At least you got it to work.

And for the descriptions themselves, think of them as "loose" in terms of continuity. The descriptions may borrow a bit from IDW but they're more for the benefit of the toy.

I'm not very familiar with the IDW continuity, but I voted for Ultra Magnus (because he got cheated out of it in the movie), Deathsaurus (because "Unknown evil" appealed to me), and Megatron (because irony).

Also, are the Maximals villains in the IDW comics? Because they seem to group Primal in with the "obviously evil" candidates.

There's no "Maximals" yet. They're an offshoot of Transformers called Eukarians. There's no Optimus Primal yet.

So far none of them are even evil. Blackarachnia falls under Adaptational Heroism and none of the main Predacons have appeared.

Waspinator is separate from the group and also Adaptational Heroism.

Maybe this means that Optimus Primal will follow his Beast Machines incarnation all the while looking like his Beast Wars one.

First look at Deluxe Movie Barricade. He looks ok. We've had better. The backpack is ugly.

IDW April 2017 Transformers Solicitations

• Lost Light #5: In which Megatron becomes the hero that he wanted to be?
• Till All Are One #9: The Trial of Chromia, or "Yeah, You Totally Thought We Were Done With Chromia's Crimes, Didn't You?"
• Optimus Prime #6: In which we determine whether Optimus will take out the trash or the trash will take Optimus.
• Revolutionaries #5: No comment.

WMG Time:

• Lost Light: Megatron will persuade the Functionist Universe citizens to rebel and overwhelm the Functionist Council to death, but either him or Terminus won't make it out of the carnage.

• Till All Are One: We'll see the events of the first Windblade miniseries as seen in the eyes of Chromia. Then we find out the guys she accidentally killed kinda deserved their fate?

Finally got the vote page working yesterday and voted Arcee for Honour, just for the novelty of the psychotic assassin becoming Prime; Primal for Chaos, because Beast Wars; and Megatron for Order, because... let's face it, that's where his character arc in the comics is going, and frankly, that's where I want to see it go.

The Windblade series better address the fact that Chromia's teleport shenanigans could have killed a ton of more people.

At least there's consequences
