I dunno why, but I've been in a weird sort of gloom since Halloween. I know I get kinda glum around the holidays, but this is more persistent than that.
Maybe look into seasonal affective disorder? My brother has been tonnes better since investing in a proper lamp (and getting into the habit of using it).

Yeah, I get smacked by SAD every year. The worst part is when I have to work long hours in January: I go to work when it's dark, I get home when it's dark. (I have got to get out of finance.)
That was one reason for buying Breath of the Wild: it's not actual sunlight, but it still helps me deal with the midwinter funk. (I stole a bokoblin's horse last night!)
Just wait until you get up into the snowy regions in the NW corner. Doesn't happen all the time, but now and then you'll wind up with Bokoblin bear cavalry.
Fortunately, they're not as much of Memetic Badasses as the internet would have you believe, and once you unseat them the bear runs off instead of it hanging around like with horses.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpGot my car towed last night.
Got in really, really late. Absolutely no parking spots left. So I parked in the fire lane that someone else had parked in. In the morning, both cars were gone. Fortunately, the reason I was in so late was because my new roommate was moving in to the new apartment, so I was able to get him to give me a ride to go get it from the impound place. And my father sent me the money I needed to cover the fine immediately.
Fresh-eyed movie blogStill, that can't have made for a fun morning.
Tonight and Sunday are the two performances of our big Christmas concert. And in a fantastic stroke of timing, I've come down with my yearly respiratory gunk, sore throat and all. I skipped dress rehearsal last night to reduce the chance of infecting my fellow singers. We'll see if my voice lasts the night.
And of course I can't take off of work to rest up because I have to do month-end stuff. Which means I have to work tomorrow, too. (I am taking Monday off, however.)
On the bright side, in BotW I'm getting better at parrying with my shield. I snuck up on a bokoblin by wearing a giant barrel, then killed him with said barrel. And killed a moblin by rolling bombs down a mountainside.
Lost an hour of my day. Though half of that time was waiting for my roommate to find my old apartment so he could get me. I should've just slept in the new place that night.
Fresh-eyed movie blogThe concert last night went pretty well. There were a few high notes I chose not to sing, for fear of blowing out my voice entirely. Can still talk today; we'll see what happens with the second concert tomorrow afternoon.
One cool thing: we'd commissioned a new piece by Jackson Berkey and last night was its premier. It was stunning. I mean, I knew it was going to be good from the first time we sightread it, but I didn't think it was going to be that good!
so yesterday ...
0800: "Who's got (X) to send as an escort for person going to the hospital?" "Uh, petty officers A and B, and me." "We're not sending you." 0915: "Go pack, you need to be on the plane at 1000."
So I'm on land unexpectedly. Yay?

Two things happened yesterday which were very unexpected and also good:
I won a rare fountain pen on eBay. Sheaffer made the "blue" Balance only one year because it didn't sell well. It's the only color of Balance I didn't have; sorta thought I'd spend years trying to snag one. And yesterday I was the only bidder!
A guy I know and like asked me out. I have been asked out a total of maybe three times in my life. (That I'm aware of, anyway.) First time I've said yes. He's a nerdy, quiet guy with a love for photography and cats. And by "quiet," I mean I've known him for years and can't say I know much about him. But the main thing is, he asked.
(squees internally)
Ooh very pretty pen. Also grats on boyo asking you out.
Work is slowly driving me nuts. In the spring they will undertake a huge project to expand the building. This will make a huge change to our access control to the point we really will have to do something completely new to make it work.
My "Slow Guard" on Sunday decided last weekend the best way to power down the computer was to pull the power cord. This is face palm worthy because she claimed to have been computer certified several times in the last 10 or so years plus an RN in a smaller time frame and familiar with computers through that. She has cocked up several times with computers. This woman is giving me gray hairs.

Who watches the watchmen?Does your date involve going somewhere to photograph cats?
To be fair, it is the fastest way to power it down. Maybe not the best way. How bad did this emergency stop gum up night shift operations?

The power on/off button while not ideal at least shuts down the bulk of the programs and the computer in a process first.
Who watches the watchmen?Tuef: that sounds like a roll of a natural 1 on a Computer Use check.
I watched The Last Jedi a couple of days ago in costume. Spoiler free review: There were some very bold choices made and I absolutely loved them!!!!
I'm with you. I loved the direct the movie went.
I discovered a seckret guys! A cooking sekret!
Instead of PAM spray or butter - coconut oil - made biscuits with coconut oil on the pan instead of butter - the gals and guys at work gobbled them down at the potluck.

All night at the computer, cuz people ain't that great. I keep to myself so I won't be on The First 48I was super excited too for the way some of the mysteries were cut away and resolved in unexpected ways. I'm looking forward to the way they are expanding this universe.
DoodlesI am hoping for another one like Rogue One. Maybe the Han Solo prequel will scratch that itch.
Speaking of movies just watched the Netflix movie Bright It was pretty good. My wife wants another, a mini series, or a spin off series.
Who watches the watchmen?Tuef: you mean "I-Can't-Believe-It's-Not-Shadowrun"? I'm looking forward to watching it tomorrow after work myself.
Mark: Yeah. It is basically low tech Shadowrun. It is another flick where the audience loves it and the critics must be blind.

Who watches the watchmen?Does anyone really even listen to movie critics these days, anyway? That, and I've always thought the occupation of "movie critic" was synonymous with "pretentious jackass", myself.
I stopped trusting the view or the word of the majority of critics years ago.
Who watches the watchmen?I just finished watching Stranger Things (season 1, anyway).
... Did they steal the credits music from Deus Ex? Because I swear it sounds familiar.

I'm an enormous zelda fan. Welcome back to the fold, Scion ;)
currently playing Hob. it's a pretty cool game, though I'm waiting for something plot-like to occur.
