Time for Hermie to dig up useless information!

So one of the FA Qs for Twilight on Stephenie Meyer's website lists a website called the Twilight Lexicon that includes, among other things, character profiles, exclusive interviews, etc. They also have a very in depth timeline that can be seen here.

http://twilightlexicon.com/?page_id=9 If we assume this to be accurate (which I do since it's on a website endorsed by word of god) than Twilight began in 2005. Since Luminosity starts at the same time and finishes around 2006, that means the five year gap between Luminosity and Radiance would set the story in 2011.

Hooray! An aversion of Writers Cannot Do Math!

So Chapter 35 must be at July 9 of 2011. Nice to now.

Edit: I still thinking about the idea of Luminosity AU "What if Bella conquered the world". Still don't quite know how reach there. Another problem is that I want to "have" Elspeth in this AU too, but her story is too integrated with that of the wolves, and the wolves are the main reason why Bella's live currently sucks.

also, a community of half-vampires in the bermudas sounds quite awesome actually.

Yeah, the problem would be to keep from making her a Mary Tzu.

Yeah, the problem would be to keep from making her a Mary Tzu.

I already feel that Luminosity-Bella is a bit too much of Mary Tzu, thought Allicorn manages to not exagerate Bella's intelect like what happened in Methods Of Rationality.

Honestly, the only things that I came up with to defeat the Volturri (and if not that, at least have a strong power base and work as sort of secundary power), would be to add new vampires/powers in the formula (like the vampirized parents) but even those feel both as bit of Deus ex Machina and not enough.

Or maybe if Aro's powerbase was destroyed early on by some twist of fate. Or if Siobhan's the power behind the throne...

Or maybe if Aro's powerbase was destroyed early on by some twist of fate.

I considered giving mates to some of the unmated volturri to make them leave the guard. This of course would need to be done with Chelsea being neutralized (with isn't all that hard for short period). The human blood drinking would be a small proble thought.

Or if Siobhan's the power behind the throne...

That... is actually quite interesting.

Bluelantern: I already feel that Luminosity-Bella is a bit too much of Mary Tzu,

How so? Her main gambit, though quite well thought out, still failed spectacularly.

[up]That is why I said a "bit".

The thing about her gambit is a bit too thought out if you consider she is a seventeen year old girl with obviously no previous plans for world domination, and she pretty much decided to overthrow the Volturri at the moment that she heard about them. She is smart, rational and luminous, but I still find odd that she would think about world domination¹ so fast, eventually? Yes, but I felt that was a bit too soon.

maybe Marty Tzu wasn't the trope thought.

edit:

¹I don't mean literal world domination, of course, but destroying and potentially ursurping the Vampire Kings is right up there in terms of ambition.

edit 2:

That said, it would have been awesome if she succeded, Hell, it was awesome if when she failed. It just pushes the suspession of disbilief a bit.

New chapter yay \o/

And wow, seen the future is tricky business.

Well, at least none of the possible futures look all that bright for the Volturri. evil grin

I do wonder how efficient the Volturri would be if Sulpicia is killed but Caius manages to keep either or both Marcus and Aro as "zombies". evil grin

Wonderful chapter. I genuinely got dizzy during the future-seeing bit.

I think I remember someone guessing earlier that Elspeth's cure for Chelsea could be transferred among packmates—if it isn't just at the time, but ongoing, then we should be able to figure out from Jake's packmate who was with him while he floofed and got hurt.

I loved seeing all of those possibilities for the future. I don't know why, but the one with Marcus calmly setting himself on fire stands out in particular...but as was stated in the earlier posts, none of those possibilities seem promising for the Volturi.

And yay, not a cliff hanger!

@Bluelantern: At her age I would have Jumped at the Call for world domination. It started off as my goal as a kid and as I have been growing I have been steadily moving away from it, because I just don't have the mettle, but it's perfectly understandable for the right type of young idealist to immediately start taking action to change the world for what they think is the better as soon as they are given the means to, when they didn't already have plans and the newly gained powers and/or information only accelerated things.

@Red Wren—Agreed, I can't see Aro's reaction to be anything else.

Probably they're not going to show Marcus until they can somehow narrow the possibilities.

Off-topicish question The Not So Short Second Life of Bree Tanner is a good enough story for someone that doesn't like the original Twilight but likes Luminosity? and also I never have read New Moon and Eclipse.

Also, does anyone can extrapolate Caius (and the General volturi member) reaction to Dydime murder? Aside from the problem that Marcus is likely to kill someone (at least himself), what would a Vampire with a mate think about the Boss that is willing to kill his sister to deprave a ally from a mate/reason to live?

The inquisitors were torturing Marcus.

First, Ignatius used the rock.

Then Billy asked Marcus if he wanted to read his BDSM blog. Harry was so surprised that his pants flew right off. He was wearing women's underpants.

The inquisitors were wearing them, too.

They realized that they were all men of the lord.

Marcus withdrew his guitar, Fuckslayer, from a dimension where all screamed for naught.

Wrought from the silver heart of heaven's false promise, laced with vessels that pulsed with angel's menstrual blood, hewn from the horns of Satan's generals, it laughed as it was set loose, a laugh that only Marcus could hear, but no one could share.

Okay, sorry, sorry, it's Thirty Hs  *

, it's just that nowadays whenever there is speculation about someone trying to kill themselves the phrase "Harry reminded himself to kill himself later" immediately springs to my mind, it was such a Non Sequitur, and so is this tirade, please don't holler the mods about this, I'm sorry, I'll just shut up now and stop being disruptive.

Re: Bree Tanner: It's written worse than the main novels, and won't make a lot of sense plotwise without the context of Eclipse.

The sideways possibilities reminded me very much of the end of Niven's All The Myriad Ways. Was that an influence by any chance?
