This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

@DJ Vinyl Scratch: Blanking pages is not acceptable, under any circumstances. If you have a problem with an article, bring it up on the forums and we'll deal with it. Contributors' pages and subpages are generally their own business unless they get offensive or are clearly trolling, but it's not your job to make that determination.

@Jvaz8047: So far your only contributions to this wiki have consisted of deleting things without leaving edit reasons. What's the deal?

To the moderators,
I admit that what I did (writing creepy stuff on a blank page) was unacceptable and I promise that I will never do it again,not even as a joke.
I have also learnt some other things as well.
1. If I feel like apologizing,I should go straight to the point,instead of being overly elaborate about it.
2. If I want to attempt to get editing privileges back after failing once,wait more then 1 day.
3.Look at my editing history in case I've written something that breaks the editing rules.
I have accepted my suspension and found other ways to wait it out. From Xiphos Orochi 666.

I attempted to edit a page with mutliple folders, and found it did a bizarre thing when I tried to upload. I promise I was not trolling or vandalizing, I was merely attempting to add some examples. I have done some work for Of Mares and Magic, the YMMV pages on His Dark Materials and Perdido Street Station, and the mainpage for Of Mares and Magic, all of which I found needed some love. I hope to continue editing less well known pages and series in this manner, and hope I haven't caused to much inconvience. It was an accident, I will try to prevent it from happening again, and I would like to know just what went wrong, if anyone actually knows. Yours, Porygon Q Who

@Porygon Q Who: It looks to me like you may have copied the text into an editor such as Notepad, and then pasted it back into the edit box when you were done. The problem is that Notepad (and Wordpad) and similar super-primitive text editors do horrible things to line breaks if their word wrapping features are turned on.
I can't say for sure that this is what happened, but confronted with apparent vandalism, whether accidental or otherwise, we have to stop it in order to be safe.
At the risk of appearing to advertise a third party product, you may wish to consider a freeware editor like Notepad++ if you'll be doing a lot of offline editing.

I have no idea why it acted up, as it has not done so in past when I edited the pages I have mentioned. No idea why it did so now. If you wish for me to stick to smaller oage entries I can, and I will install the notepad, but I would like to continue my editing of smaller pages and entries I feel Need More Love, if you don't mind. Something happens to the code at a certain size on my computer compressing it so that I can't edit normally. Could this be the cause? And could we reinstall my account if I promise to cancel edit after previewing the page if this comes up again and make sure to work on files with less data in the mean time?

Okay, I learned my lesson already. So can I please edit again?
To Fighteer: Actually I did add some examples to some tropes, but I did mostly delete examples. Sometimes it feels like people are just making the tropes fit their favorite show/book/movie. I never messed with anything relating to any work of fiction I wasn't familiar with.
If you just want me to list the reasons why the tropes I delete don't fit the work-of-fiction from now on that will fine.
Is there anything else? If not I would really appreciate it if you guys could turn my editing privileges back on.

@Hot Girl - You've been adding YMMV and Flame Bait tropes to main pages. Looking at your edits on Bramwell, you added:
- Character Derailment: Many characters, particularly Eleanor, in the final series. The series itself takes a completely different tone in from previous ones.
- Strangled by the Red String: Eleanor and Marsham get engaged in the final season. There has been a mutual, genuine respect and affection between them, but overall, she's only accepting his proposal to avoid spinsterhood or being aruined woman—and he knows it. And despite his attraction to her, his declaration of all-consuming love seems out of place.
- Eleanor and the army officer she marries in a Shotgun Wedding after having known him only a few weeks or months at most.
The first is a YMMV trope. If you click on the link, you'll see a big banner at the top that says it only goes on YMMV pages. If you add it to a main page, it'll get a bright red bullet point and a warning every time someone edits the page that it needs moved.
The second is also a YMMV trope, but it has the added problem of having incorrect Example Indentation. Please read that article and summarize it for me.
Furthermore, some tropes you've added are flat out Flame Bait, which we don't allow examples of anywhere because they are, well, flame bait.
Can you be careful and add tropes where they belong? Can you double check your edits to make sure you aren't making more work for others?
@Death Note Fan - Your edits display a poor grasp of English and no understanding of Repair Dont Respond and correct Example Indentation. I'm afraid we can't let you edit until you 1) read those articles and demonstrate understanding of them and 2) either get help with your English (use this thread) or step up your game and proofread your edits more carefully.
No one has time to go around behind you and clean up after you.

@Jvaz 8047: This is a wiki; it's a collaborative endeavor. While nobody owns examples or articles, it is considered impolite to delete material without an explanation. If you don't think an example is relevant, you need to say why so others can respond. Otherwise it looks like vandalism. If you feel that a deletion is likely to be contested, or if you need more space to explain than the edit reason box provides, use the Discussion page.

I was upset over the fact that one of my TRS threads (and a spawned Image Pickin' thread) wasn't going anywhere, so I decided to bring it to attention by vandalizing the page in question (which is Iron Lady).
I admit that my actions were wrong, and I assure you that this is a one-time thing

This is partly my fault, I should've kept my cool.
I had a dispute with a user who edits the Degrassi pages in order to prop up a character (Riley), bash other characters who are in opposition to this character and the show itself for making this character look bad (in his mind, at least). At first I dealt with it until I've noticed that there were several users (Blue Kevlar 16 and Jagged Prince 23, who he claims are "friends") who just so happen to have the same exact opinions/edits, so I suspect them to be Sock Puppets (not to mention this same person attacked me in another forum after I complained about him, but that's neither here or there). Bottom line, I got too heated and would like my editing privileges back.
^^We definitely don't need that guy.

I would like my editing privileges back. I realize it was because I got heated with mega j. It was after 12 AM for me and it won't happen again. I got annoyed because of her baseless accusations and attempts to tell what am I not allowed to do.

@Mega J: Edit warring is never an acceptable response to a conflict with another troper. That's why we have the Discussion page, PM's, Ask The Tropers, and even the forums. By reducing yourself to the same level as the person you're arguing with, you make yourself equally at fault. We can't condone that.
@seven7star: Oh, hi! I feel like we know you already. Maybe as JaggedPrince23, or BlueKevlar16? Two other accounts that also got banned for the exact same reason you are now banned... what are the odds? No, I'm afraid we won't be restoring your privileges. Haters can get bent.

Hello. I've been edit banned and I know what it's about. I shouldn't have blanked a page then put it on the cut list. I just jumped the gun and assumed that contributors can't have a Moment of X page. I promise, I won't jump the gun and be overzealous with removing things again.
