Why bother choosing between Artoria and Rin when Shirou can have both?

He doesn't have both. He has Tohsaka and Tohsaka has the ultimate status symbol in the form of a fifteen year old girl with a shiny sword.

Though to be honest I don't think a three way relationship would be impossible under certain conditions, it's just not what they have.

Really, to get the Good End, Rin has to have 8 or fewer relationship points with Shirou, which could mean she isn't as attached to him as she could be, while Saber has to have 6 or more, which could mean she's more attached than she would be. That could easily point to a threesome in my book. Especially since Shirou providing prana to Saber would help out Rin a bit.

Rin now has to pay for Saber food. And that isn't going to be a small sum. You bet your ass she's getting something out of it.

If you want to fanon that it happened, that's fine, but if you want to say it's really true, then Tohsaka never said anything about Shirou sleeping with Saber, Saber didn't react like it was being considered (she would have had some reaction to news like that) and even if they do engage in "mana replenishment" sex =/= relationship. Which wouldn't even be necessary given that blood also works.

Further, if anything, it wouldn't be Shirou having Tohsaka and Saber, it would be Tohsaka having Shirou and Saber. Not to crush your yuri dreams or anything, but Tohsaka happens to consider herself completely straight unless... prompted. So I don't think it would be impossible for there to be a threeway relationship, but in UBW Good End there isn't. Saber is Tohsaka's friend and status symbol. Saber is Shirou's friend and partner, among other things. Love doesn't really enter either relationship.

Arha is the reincarnation of Kirei, so I don't know why you'd be so shocked he'd be so good at crushing your dreams and hopes.

Seems like they'd be too busy to me. I'm not sure how much time Tohsaka will even have for Shirou if she's at the Clock Tower and he's just a lowly assistant or whatever.

Holidays are a thing. That, and she still has a year or two in high school before she heads off to the Tower.

So Tohsaka later returns with Waver to dismantle the Great Grail after the Fate route and the UBW, yes? I kind of want to see that story told following the UBW route (even if it's just the True End instead of the Good End).

Finished Episode 2. Still don't know if I want to laugh or cry.

Why does no one think to tell magical girls how their powers work before throwing them into combat? This especially seems OOC for Rin who tried to make sure Shirou understood as much as possible about what he was getting into. If she knew about his proficiency with Gradation Air, she probably would have made sure he knew everything about it that she did before the day was done and then start giving him advise on how to properly use it.

So in order to get the Class Card, you have to fight an altered, zombie version of the Servant that was summoned into that class during the Fifth Holy Grail War. Okay. They also have access to all of their Noble Phantasms. That... Ah, what the hell. The Kaleidosticks are broken so it doesn't matter.

I wonder how the Mirror World fits into the rest of the Nasuverse. I'm getting the distinct feeling that it doesn't.

So the Kaleidosticks run on imagination? Does that mean that they have theoretically no limitations? Also, WHERE ARE THEY GETTING ALL OF THAT PRANA? AND WHY DIDN'T RIN'S MAGIC WORK AGAINST RIDER?

And Prism Sapphire shows us what Lancer would do when faced with another Servant preparing their Noble Phantasm. The fact that she didn't have to charge Gae Bolg just screams "HAX", though. Also, she did NOT stab Rider in the heart at all. Oh, and Rider not slitting her throat to summon Bellerophon is disappointing.

Part of me wants to love it for being absolutely ridiculous and part of me wants to hate it for apparently just shitting all over the workings of the Nasuverse.

They're kaleido-sticks, they use the Second Magic to extract infinite prana from parallel universes, just like the Jewel Sword.

They can- with the- I just- Uhg.

This series is going to drive me to drink.

I'm going to try to stop taking it seriously now. I'll probably fail.

What's so strange about Tohsaka being unable to affect Rider? Her magic resistance is almost as high as Saber's.

I suppose this Rin has no way of knowing that Rider has Rank B Magic Resistance.

Anyway, I believe this series has given up on logic so I may as well follow suit. I mean, seriously, what was Miyu even doing when solving for the volume of a cone? That's not smart, that's a very special kind of arrogant and possibly stupid. Her art also made no kinds of sense and I actually found the very well drawn yaoi art to be more impressive. I'm also pretty sure that she broke the laws of physics with her cooking. The running was just predictable.

Really, I'm getting Homura vibes from Miyu. That's just all kinds of unnatural.

I'm liking the remixes of songs from the VN, even if a piano rendition of "New Dawn" makes no sense for Illya taking a bath. The remix of "Quiet Voice" was better but, again, nowhere close to what I've learned to associate it with.

I'll watch the next episode in a bit. This is show is weird.

But that's exactly the best part of it! Seeing how it uses the WHY SO SERIOUS BUSINESS nature of the Nasuverse Big Fat Rule Phonebook (one even Nasu laughs at his own will as his fans take it as the second Bible) as its pink toilet paper brings some strange measure of peace to my soul.

It's weird, but the first part is mostly light-hearted and comedy, with some seriousness. It's not taking itself completely seriously.
