The first one I saw was Space Mutiny. I was already familiar with the 'Blast Hardcheese' meme, but only knew of MST 3 K by reputation.

Continuing with my plot to watch the whole show in order. At Tormented right now which gets dark near the end as the protagonist starts contemplating killing a little girl who's basically his niece.

So, what do you think the darkest/bleakest movies on the show were? Sidehackers was pretty dismal. The Incredibly Strange Creatures might have been one of the dark and ugly movies, if not for the fact it was just so weird. I think one of the teenage hoodlum movies were pretty dark, I can't remember which one it was though.

Of course, the Coleman Francis films are all pretty bleak. Beast of Yucca FlatsTragic Monster killing innocent people—is probably the least dismal and Red Zone Cuba—scumbag criminals on the lam after miserably failing to conquer Cuba—is the most.

High School Big Shot, no question. An incredibly depressing film.

The Unearthly is pretty hideously dreary. So gray, so depressing...

Richard Kiel has passed on. Best known for playing Jaws in the James Bond movies, and known by me personally for almost being cast as The Incredible Hulk, MS Ties will remember him from Eegah and The Human Duplicators.

Alas, Richard Kiel. You were awesome. And big.

Watch out for snakes.

I didn't realize that I Accuse My Parents was a World War 2 era film. That certainly explains why it looks so old and why a high school kid dresses in a suit and fedora when he's in public. This has to be one of the oldest films they've done, maybe the oldest?

I thought it was the movie where a gang of alien greasers move next door to some girl, plotting on poisoning the water supply. I just went over the whole list of films they did on the show, and I can't find the one I'm thinking of.

That actually sounds like the plot of an old Twilight Zone episode.

As for the most depressing film they ever did, no question: The Girl in Lover’s Lane.

Hehe. Larry was alright but TV's Frank was brilliant. Dr. Forrester and Frank were the best of the Mads.

If they did another Christmas episode, which movie would you have liked to see them take on? I would have enjoyed seeing their take on Christmas Evil, which would also give them a slasher film to riff on (there's also silent night, deadly night, but that one is too twisted and dark for MST 3 K).

What episode is that from?

Also maybe kinda offensive to imply that 1. cheerleaders are invariably female and 2. they knew she was transgender and used male pronouns anyway?

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.

Angels Revenge. It was a semi-Call-Back to a Can't Stop the Music reference, but this riff was 20 years ago.

Here's some good news: an "Official MST3K" YouTube channel has posted, along with some trailers for upcoming Shout! Factory releases, eight full-length episodes of the show: Mitchell, Manos the Hands of Fate, Soultaker, Laserblast, The Final Sacrifice, Pumanman, the Touch of Satan, and Werewolf. It looks like they've been coming out intermittently over the past year, so hopefully we'll see more. If you haven't caught any of them before, be sure to check them out, they're some of the show's best!
