EDIT: Nevermind, waited too long.

So what do you think about the page quote using the mundane color of "hazel"?

...

Aligned Eye And Hair Color or, after a thesaurus... Shared Hair And Eye Color?

Although, neither of those specify that it's a character trope vs. a group trope...

That's kinda the point. Technicolor is already fiction-ish, but when both eyes and hair are the same technicolor, it implies either:

  • The author is going for the color theme, but doesn't want to extend it to costumes.
  • In fiction, melanin hormone somehow applies the same coloring to all relevant body parts when in reality it varies (Well, there is a know relation that blond hair and blue eyes go together).

That gives me an idea, maybe Technicolor Genetics (probably not good)? Bonus points when everyone in the family has the same color.

[up]I feel that either the first or the last names are the strongest. I would probably go with the first one, since it's the shortest.

[up][up]The first one doesn't indicate that the eyes and hair are the same colour.

[up]I think adding "Matching" to the beginning of the name (or after "Technicolor" instead of before it) would fix that.

I wonder if we could do something with Monochrome, a.k.a One color... or unicolor ... Hair And Eyes In One Technicolor? Is a bit long.

I guess all the good options have been suggested? Unless there's a word that refers to hair and eye color as one object.

I don't really like any of the names suggested although I do get the concern about the name not being specific to unusual or striking colors and shades.

I looked through the wick check and only found 7 examples of black/brown/grey hair and eyes (8% of the wick check) so I am sure if the misuse is bad enough for rename. Most wicks and examples I see on the wiki don't involve characters with brown/black eyes.

  1. Characters.Diner Dash (Cookie)/ Curtains Match the Window: Subverted at first, having brown hair with blue eyes, but was later redesigned with brown eyes to match his hair.
  2. Characters.Edelweiss (Haruka Aozora)/ Curtains Match the Window: Has brown hair and eyes.
  3. Characters.Beyblade Burst Introduced In Burst (Daina (Daigo) Kurogami)/ Curtains Match the Window: Black hair and black eyes.
  4. Characters. The Prince Of Tennis Other Characters (Satoshi Horio)/ Curtains Match the Window: He has both brown eyes and hair.
  5. Characters.Radiata Stories (Main Characters/Jack Russell)/ Curtains Match the Window: Quite rare for a JRPG protagonist, but brown eyes and hair fit village boy Jack perfectly.
  6. Characters. The Legend Of The Legendary Heroes Others (Iruna Lieutolu)/ Curtains Match the Window: While her eyes appear as green, they're technically black. She's the one who Ryner got his hair and eyes from, after all.
  7. Characters.Honkai Star Rail Jarilo VI (Bronya)/ Curtains Match the Window: Bronya has grey hair and matching grey eyes.

Since it's been pointed out that the amount of misuse isn't very high, clocking because it looks like only cleanup is needed. Maybe this should be closed and punted to the appearance trope cleanup thread.

[up]Actually, I unlocked it last year and repurposed it as a regular cleanup thread (leaving TRS-level tasks to TRS instead of that thread) after a TRS thread for Girlish Pigtails only needed cleanup. (It doesn't look like it got much done, though.)

Edit: Since I linked to the thread, I'm just going to go ahead and lock this thread.
