Those are the opposite of conservative beliefs given they're more likely to support punitive justic, capital punishment, and harsher punishments for even victimless crime like drug use or being born in the wrong country. There's a reason why a lot of conservatives make unirionic "Adam did nothing wrong" posts.

The only conservative takeaway I could see is "le Angel Dush shows le drugs and porn and sex are bad", but that's ignoring the nuance of his story.

With all due respect, it was introduced into this thread as a video making an actual argument with the intent to encourage discussion (similar to previous videos introduced in this thread in the past), which is what we are doing.

An argument as it turns out,is completely nonsensical

Hazbin seems to have a small Misaimed Fandom of conservatives and fascists who either don't understand the work, or they do and they don't care.

These people routinely take something that's beloved that criticizes their values, like Starship Troopers, Warhammer 40k, or American History X and twist it make it seem like it supports them.

They see a disproportionate amount of people in hell and think Vivzie is /ourguy/ saying that the filthy lgbts are hellbound, when the show not only doesn't say that's the reason, but also presents them as sympathetic and the system that sends people to hell is unjust. But they only care about surface level. Though I think as the show goes on, this will be less of a problem.

It's something I finally figured out very early on after becoming a fan of the Helldivers series: people aren't media illiterate, but some people straight up just don't care about any messaging a work has and will ascribe whatever they want to believe onto it. Case in point, there is no plausible way that someone like Ignatius Reilly could watch Hazbin and think "Wow, this is hella based" without deliberately ignoring most of its themes.

When a work is good people will always try to see what they want to see in it. That's hardly unique to Hazbin.

What a resoundingly optimistic counterpoint. Perhaps that's what we need more of in troubled times like these.

FINALLY! The kind of Hazbin content I wish my YouTube feed would actually recommend me instead of the four billionth video titled "Hazbin Hotel is atrociously mid and killed my grandma"! Where have these die-hard Hazbinites been and why are they not making more video essays!?

(If I was actually talented, I would make an extremely long and pretentious video essay unironically called "Hazbin Hotel is Perfect and You Pussies Are Too Cowardly To Admit It")

If you want to see Hazbin praisers go in person to conventions. Hazbin is definitely the hit new thing to cosplay. There's a lot of variety in the characters being cosplayed too, not just all Alastor or all Charlie. Saw a surprising amount of Adams, Lutes, and the Vees. I think the only major character I didn't see was Sera, and that's not entirely surprising given the complexity of her hair.

How many "Nun Alastors" have shown up and how many different kinds of "Cursed Cat Alastor" plushies are there at this point?

That said, I've seen some of the really good costumes and they are amazing in their craftsmanship. And even better, everyone is just having a good time supporting what they enjoy.

PREACH! I was at Swedish Comic-Con last weekend and saw a BUNCH of Hellaverse cosplayers. Among them was an ADORABLE Vox cosplayer - I just had to compliment the kid on his outfit!

(I also saw a Moxxie, who is my favorite Hellaverse character, so I was extremely satisfied that I got to satiate my hyperfixation)

… I was debating whether or not I should be concerned about the number of kids who apparently were fans, but I guess kids will find a way to discover stuff - My brother and I were 6-7 when we saw the Peter Jackson LOTR movies for the first time, and those are also not very childfriendly, so…

And two 10-year old boys squeeing about finding Niffty stickers is just too cute for me to pass up. They even helped me look for a Husk sticker.

I was 7 when I first learned about Newgrounds. All it takes is one kid with an older sibling or parents who don't watch what they're doing and all the kids in the grade will learn about it, no matter how kid-unfriendly something is.

There was a small push in the cosplay community to not encourage kids to cosplay from Hazbin Hotel, but I think people quickly realized that was a losing battle. There really isn't a way to stop people.

I saw plenty of Hazbin Hotel stuff at C2E2 as well.

I can still remember seeing a surprisingly large number of young kids at the movie theater going to see The Dark Knight.

I don't we know the exact dates yet, but a Timeline subpage for HH would be nice

I'd love it if Viv animated that and the Angel Dust one (though it might be a bit legally grey given Amazon owns the show, but I'm sure they'd let her, it's nothing new but would be free marketing).

Sorry for the late reply. I didn't like Adom, and sometimes Charlie was too optimistic. I also don't care for the V guys. The girl gets the pass, but I'm weak for bad ladies.

if we can take this to H.Boss also. The boss's relationship with the Owl makes me uneasy. I don't get what's going on. And I would have liked it if the business has a few reserve staff.

I heard that fans don't like the camp episode, but I liked who Millie was pretending to be.

Also, the fish girls don't seem like clowns.

Well, Adam is a Hate Sink - You’re not supposed to like him. Perhaps Love to Hate at best. But maybe you mean they did too good a job at making him despicable to the point where it’s not fun to watch him anymore, and I can definitely see that.

And yeah, you’re right that Glitz and Glam aren’t clowns - That’s also the point. Mammon accepts their act anyway because he knows that Sex Sells and he really doesn’t give a shit what the acts are as long as he can make money off of it; He did earlier in the episode say that ”women aren’t funny”, but changed his tune very quickly when he saw the audience eat their act up.

I hope we get to see more of the other Overlords in season 2. Those present in that meeting at Carmine but didn't get so much time or say in any of the matter before Velve crashed it and abruptly got the whole thing called off.

No, but there is plenty of guessing.

Personally, I think cowardice is the reason Sir Pentious turned into a yellow-bellied cobra. For context: Cobras are surprisingly cowardly animals in life, using their shields when they are scared and try to make themselves look bigger and more imposing than they really are to fend off threats towards them.

Just like how Sir Pentious keep blustering with his "supervillain theatrics" due to being trapped in Hell, where (almost) everything is a greater threat to him than he is.

And that this cowardice of his caused an outcome in life so utterly damning that he got sent to Hell for it alone.

That's just my guess for Sir Pentious though.

I have a vague recollection of there being a reason for mobsters turning into spider demons. Something about mafia family ”weaving an intricate web” or something. But I don’t remember if it’s been explicitly confirmed or if it’s fan speculation.
