Shin Megami Tensei V. Just couldn’t really get into it, not helped by me kinda losing interest in RPGs. Also, what kind of game has paid DLC at launch?

The ones who like to grind. The ability to do so is what made me give up on the game. I’ll probably get back to it some day.
For some reason, I never finished Dragon Age: Origins. x_x ^_^;; I really should one of these days.
I'd also like to play the first Witcher game again, considering how much fun I've been having reading the original books.
Flora is the most beautiful member of the Winx Club. :)I don't think I ever finished Grand Theft Auto IV. I found it to be that much of a disappointment.
FC: SW-1445-0294-1719/PSN: TekkenGirl4Lyfe/Currently playing: Fire Emblem: The Blazing BladeI have a problem with often losing interest once I reach the obvious endgame portion of a game. With RPGs I tend to enjoy best the beginning and middle, because there are more options at those sections. But once those portions are finished the story starts showing signs that there is only one route left, which will soon be finished, that is when I start having less fun. This happens even with games I really enjoy up to that point and wish to see how the story ends, hoping for a satisfying conclusion. Add to this that I have very little time for games, so when I reach the endgame section, I tend to postpone it and rather do something else, like start another game. Sometimes I just start a new playthrough on the *same* game.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Just couldn't pick up a ring during some quest early on. TBH, playing it on Switch in portable probably wasn't the best decision, since the font is small and the battery drainage is high.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Not the main game itself, but there are games I initially intended on platinuming/100% completing where I eventually decided "nope, not dealing with that trophy/part"
Like Yakuza Kiwami, after finally having completed the car chase and struggling even when temp-lowering difficulty to Easy, I suddenly lost all desire to play it again on Legend just for that part alone.
Or Yakuza 5, having to play through a variety of minigames (among other stuff) for completion? Sure, I've done that before. Some of said minigames being the old, more frustrating versions of darts and baseball? Eeeh not feeling it.
As for the main game itself, those tend to be less "giving up on" and more "getting more caught up in other games and taking forever to return, if ever"
"Leftover items still have value!"I just watched Pulp Fiction for the first time and I said the eight deadly words at the 1 hour mark before turning it off.
I know I was against this thread but we could easily apply it to media in general.
Well, that’s not what it’s about. Games require more personal commitment than other media.
Very true and it’s a lot easier to consume other forms of media to their fullest. Sorry for derailing the conversation.
New Pokémon Snap, it started to feel repetitive and tedious. Nothing felt unique enough to hold my attention.
Friday Night Funkin'... I no good at Rhythm Games... I'll just have to watch others play...
Some call it stalking, I say walking just extremely close behindJust remembered another one: Crash Tag Team Racing. The platforming, although well done, felt extremely out of place in a kart racer, the Die-O-Ramas felt like a cheap gag, the characters felt Flanderized, and as for the actual racing... yeah, I couldn't figure it out. Especially the power ups, arguably the most important part of any kart racer. I had absolutely zero clue what did what, and I couldn't get any of them to hit. Overall I just... didn't enjoy it. I'd go back to freaking Crash Nitro Kart (which I also gave up on due to my inability to beat Velo) over this.
FC: SW-1445-0294-1719/PSN: TekkenGirl4Lyfe/Currently playing: Fire Emblem: The Blazing BladeCruelty Squad, not because of anything to do with the aesthetics or game design, which I was looking forward to, but because of input lag on my aging system.
INSIDE OF YOU THERE ARE TWO WOLVES. BOTH OF THEM WANT YOU TO SHOOT ELVIS.Undertale... damn Papyrus constantly calling me ad nauseum due to me dying to a random encounter.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I never made it past the "survival gauntlet" final boss on the 2010 Splatterhouse game and eventually gave up. I might have tried harder if I'd looked up strategy guides / lets plays / etc and seen that it was the final boss and I was that close to finishing.

Earth is the only planet inhabitable by Nicolas Cage.Years ago, I gave up on The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess due to that rather irritating escort mission involving Telma's carriage.
This year, I quit No Man's Sky. Reason? Outlaw update didn't sit well for me. Plenty of They Changed It, Now It Sucks! from that update alone, particularly with pirate dogfights being made more tedious.

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI got halfway through Final Fantasy X and was really enjoying it. School got in the way, and I have never picked it back up. I know vaguely what happens, because I usually read a summary before I watch, play, or read anything, and it does seem like the kind of thing I'd like, but I'd either have to restart and waste 20+ hours or risk picking it back up without knowing what I am supposed to do.
What fate a slugcat...I never did finish The Legendary Starfy and Digimon World DS because of how goddamn difficult the final bosses were. Though I'd say most of the bosses in Digimon World DS were pretty frustrating without using the codes to get the higher-leveled DotFalcomon and DotAgumon.
Oh, I believe in yesterdayi should really start playing it
Let me tell you about Reader Rabbit Kindergarten: Bounce Down in Balloon Town!.
You can play the games in this CD-ROM individually or play them as part of the plot of the game.
Back when my grandparents had a Windows ME computer, I was in the process of playing through the plot of the game, mainly so that I could see what it looked like to actually get the door open, since that doesn’t happen in the individual game mode. However, I never got to see that for the following reason.
One day, the balloon-inflating game with the snail was more difficult than before, and I was having trouble understanding it. Then, when a balloon popped, I was unsettled just because the snail had a different reaction than I remembered. It was then that I gave up on this game.
Are we human, or are we dancer? The only time I've played a Pokemon game is when I tried beating Blue with only a Squirtle but quit when I found out that you HAVE to get other Pokemon in order to progress.
HqamiliciousI recently called it quits on Tunic.
Cute visuals, frustrating gameplay.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope Report"Pulp Fiction"? What was I thinking? This isn't the "MEDIA you gave up on" thread. With that in mind, should I make one?
Gave up on Tales of Symphonia for a bit when I bought it for my Switch. Some of the roadblocks they give you are way too specific.
I have sold a ton of multiplayer games solely because I have nobody to play with. My family has no interest in my hobbies and online play still feels lonely.
