Victoria Cleanup

So I guess we'll wait for the mods' statement before further action though? No point in cleansing with fire if we're gonna dump the ashes in the dustbin of history.

I guess? We might need to ask the mods but I can't imagine it'd be an issue because we're salvaging the page.

I was thinking of going forward with page revert idea to see what we would be left with. I wasn't sure about it before because it wasn't easy to tell what was going to be left be behind after the revert and there were a bunch of edits from other tropers that in between Idumean Patriot's edits.

However, if cutting Victoria for make cleanup/rebuilding easier, I don't really have any objections.

I guess either way works? I just feel like a cut will let us take our time and really be sure we're good before we publish it (plus we still need to clean wicks too)

But yeah, that works. I think we've had decent enough cleanup to justify keeping the page(it just needs new work done), but I'm simply not sure what you meant.

I think the Unintentionally Sympathetic and its opposite trope examples were kosher as far as good taste and rule abiding goes.

Sooo, I mod reverted the Victoria back to what it looked like before Idumean Patriot edited it , copied the contents into Sandbox.Victoria and then mod reverted the page back into its current state.

Says a lot that the examples are pretty upfront about the fact that the book is bigoted in the sandbox version.

What about the character page? Quick glance at it shows a lot of the examples there are duplicated on the main page and also suffer from whitewashing.

Yeah, there's doesn't appear to be any whitewashing in the earlier versions of the page.

I copied the pre-Idumean Patriot edits from Characters.Victoria to Sandbox.Victoria Characters

Took a stab at tidying up the sandbox page. Stopped at Idiot Ball because I think that one is going to require a lot more detail and I have to go reread the relevant parts of the story.

I edited the sandbox page a bit. One of the things I did was add examples that I, personally, had put on Literature.Victoria back last year. I assume that's OK? I made sure the examples were written impartially.

On another note, are the moderators OK with one of my previous proposals for the re-worked Victoria page to be on Literature.Victoria A Novel Of Fourth Generation War instead of it's original spot?

As a final note, since one of the big problems with Victoria on this site was how it was entry pimped on all sorts of pages, will there be some kind of "Victoria Wick Check" in the future or no?

Yeah, after the sandbox is done, we can move it to Victoria A Novel Of Fourth Generation War to prevent subpage collision. Also, you are free to add your own examples to to the sandbox if they don't break any rules.

As for the Victoria wicks, I don't know about a wick check but the wicks do need to be examined and cleaned because they were overzealously pimped across the wiki.

I just looked at the Related page and of the first four I can already tell you at least one is shoehorned, and one is definitely lying.

Someone just created a duplicate of the Victoria page at Victoria: A Novel of 4th Generation War. Not sure what's going on, but since this wasn't discussed in the thread at all I felt I should bring it to people's attention.
