I think there's been a lot of confusion between Web Video and Web Original, with works being misfiled sometimes or just being difficult to guess. I know I've created red links a few times because the namespace for an Internet work wasn't correct in my link. General moments pages for the two also seem a little confused about which they are. There may need to be some investigation into those two namespaces and how they relate to each other.

I don't know if anyone has ever troped Tiktoks before, but do they go under Web Video? (I wanted to add the video mentioned here as an example to Token Black Friend).
Vine goes under Web Video I think, so Tik Tok should too.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThe page for Vine itself is under Web Original.
But I agree that individual Vine and Tiktok videos should be under Web Video.

Would Meme House be better under Machinima?
Content Warning: My posts may involve my actions dealing with R-rated or Not Safe for Work content. Same for my edit history. That question is probably also relevant to some of the work pages listed on McElroy Brothers under Polygon.
Hey folks! As the title says, the Web Video namespace and index are a mess.
Looks like the index has been around since 2012. Back back in 2014, Fighteer clarified in the description that it's for live-action video, not for animated. For awhile, people were keeping on top of that when the index was misused for Web Animation. Over the years, the index and namespace have accumulated animation, Let's Play, creators, etc. despite having namespaces and indexes for those. There are also other kinds of web videos like Video Review Show that are about other works, not narratives of their own.
I've tried revising the description to reiterate what's on Namespace about what goes where and what the Web Video index itself already said, but... gah, don't know if the clarifications are enough. I started a cleanup to move out the misuses and find the right homes, but it's overwhelming. There's over 900 items on the index now after moving over 500 to Sandbox.Web Video to review, and that's only part of the alphabet.
Some items don't have an obvious home, but would Web Video be a catch-all index for them? A good example is Meme House— it uses the video game The Sims 4, but it's heavily modded version and not a Let's Play of the vanilla gameplay; it's has an original narrative storyline, but conveyed using a video game; it's streamed live with commentary.
I should've opened a discussion earlier given the scope of this to confirm how the rest of the community feels about Web Video, if it should be re-defined to include what it's become over time or get it narrowed back down to match the description. Let's discuss!
