Just a Face and a Caption: Sequel Displacement

It's just a random Street Fighter I screenshot. It tells you nothing about how Street Fighter II is much more famous than Street Fighter I.

Agreed, the current is basically JASAAC. I'm thinking this may be a BUPKIS case, but I could be wrong

The image for the related trope Adaptation Displacement is also JAFAAC.

I vote BUPKIS for both.

Those tropes require familiarity with the works for their pics to be illustrative, so only if we can't find a lampshade, I'm inclined BUPKIS'ing both of them.

I'll argue a weak keep on Adaption Displacement; it provides enough info to make it clear why is was an example.

I wonder if we could do some sort of Google ngrams thing comparing "Street Fighter I" and "Street Fighter II" or "Jaws the Movie" versus "Jaws the Book".

Edit: Just to give an example, Red Dragon vs Silence of the Lambs (I wouldn't actually use this example, but it works to give an idea of how to make a picture.)

Adaptation Displacement’s pic was chosen here; I’d argue a weak Keep Until Better Image Suggested there.

BUPKIS for both, but take Adaptation Displacement to its own thread.

I think the tropes are similar enough to be equally worthy of BUPKIS.
