Needs Help: Weird Moon

Previous thread.

Current is too similar to The Man in the Moon, and that trope is too specific to replace. Suggestion 1◊ and Suggestion 2◊ for new images. Can't get much weirder than a heart-shaped moon.

I wanted to suggest a picture from a specific cutscene since it's a better version of the first suggestion (moon's more visible), but I can't find the still.

I know a lot of people don't like them, but how about a multi-panel showing several of the ways the moon can fall into this trope — too big, weird color, wrong shape, star between the crescent horns...?

A collage certainly wouldn't hurt.

Considering the number of subtropes, we'd have to scrutinize the collage contents to ensure there's no image overlap. I'd rather have one picture that doesn't fit any subtrope in particular plus I really want to come up with a caption for the Kingdom Hearts image.

That looks good, but I think I'd prefer something other than the lower left...the "man in the moon" imagery doesn't exactly say "weird" to me.

Not to mention, that particular image is a duplicate to the work page image.

For the upper right image, I actually prefer the other version (4.2), since the colour emphasizes the weirdness more.

Btw, does something like this◊ count as Weird Moon?

How about one of these for the lower left image replacement: RWBY◊, Amazing World of Gumball◊, Dreamworks logo◊

4.2 is good too, but it might overlap with Bad Moon Rising. Also, your example doesn't really count, I think, since it's the tree leaves bats and the fence that make the moon "weird", but not the moon itself.

I Think it's the face being weird. Those aren't the leaves of the tree, that's the shadows on the moon. The tree branches are bare of leaves.

Yeah, but I think even with the shadow clouds on the moon the example is pretty weak, since the "weirdness" really depends on the bat, the fence etc.

Bumping; any thoughts on the lower left image replacement?

Top left still has the overlap issue with The Man in the Moon while the others don't fit any subtropes.

Also, I know this is weird coming from a guy who suggested the image in the first place, but if we want to avoid any overlaps, I suggest using 4.1 instead of 4.2, because it overlaps a bit with Bad Moon Rising.

Which one do you prefer?

Either works. 21.1 has some color variety with the red moon, but 21.2 is more aesthetically consistent due to all four panels using blue.

I prefer the checkered color pattern (blue/blue and purple/red) in 21.1.

• Lower left looks too close to Detonation Moon.
• The carvings on upper left remind me of Deface of the Moon.

I was just thinking that there was something bothering me about all the ones showing the moon damaged or destroyed, and you nailed why.
