Hmmmm...that's definitely more on-point but I kinda like the current.
But it's unintentional. The page would be better served with an intentional one.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Compensating for Something used to have a very similar pic...this trope is more about weapons being used as phallic symbols, so that's going a bit farther than it's intended.
Of those, I like the second and fourth best, the others way overemphasize the weapon.
I don't like either, because holding your weapon low this way when using a two handed weapon is a legit stance (usually the blade points up, being a still image there's plenty of reason the blade could be horizontal). It makes it easier to maneuver the blade by giving you more room, allowing for quicker parries with smaller movements. Most of #8 have the same issue.
I find #3 is far better and more deliberate as a picture. No one holds a revolver this way (nor should they).

Yeah, 3's the best one so far. I also would like to suggest this◊ Deadpool (2016) poster.
Out of curiosity's sake, does the Penetrator from Saints Row count as an example? Or does it count as Compensating for Something instead?

At least Deadpool has a page, but it should be a version without the Entertainment Weekly logo in it.

Check out my fanfiction!"Careful where you cock your gun."
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult."Load of lead." In reference to the text on the poster.
Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they prettyTweaking the old image's caption a bit gives me "Superdickery at its finest."
Twitter/Instagram: anzasquiddles. Deviantart: anzahanifathallah. The main issue with that is that Deadpool consistently acts like...well, Deadpool, whereas Superdickery is specifically about cover art depicting the hero doing something maliciously out of character while the actual comic has him/her being in-character.
A parody of the "rifle/gun" scene from Full Metal Jacket just came to mind: "This is my pistol, along with my gun. With one I kill people, with both I have fun."

Heh, that's good. A bit long for a caption, but still good.

You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"And me.

Given the time frame I'm pretty sure that picture was not a deliberate example, and I think the page should have a deliberate image, like the one on the Manhunter page.
