His interaction is: one scene has him commenting on both Will and Logan's adventures and shortly thereafter granting a pyrotecnic effect to the MIB. he doesn't age, his clothes do not change, and neither do his assistants or his assistant's clothes, so pretty much the only explanation would be that he is a Host and basically everyone else in his team is also a Host, which sounds overly contrived even for Ford's maze-like scheming.

Really hope we don't go down the "everyone is a host!" twist. That got tiring on Battlestar Galactica and "there are undercover androids disguised as people" is one of the basic attributes of the show.

Yeah, I agree. I'd rather have a plot twist of 'Someone isn't a host'. That could be interesting.

Though, I'll be honest, when they killed Teresa, I thought Ford was building a host of her in the basement and she'd appear next episode instead of Ford trying to cover up her murder.

William is the Man in Black confirmed! His journey with Delores and Logan was in the past.

Did Dr. Ford engineer a Kill Em All ending?

I started watching after gorging on spoilers and after watching the pilot, I couldn't shake off the idea that Ford was spouting one foreshadowing after another.

Because what if the new Host he was cooking since the pilot is a body double for him, like Bernard was for Arnold?

Also, would casting Steven Ogg as a psychotic bandit be considered a Casting Gag since his iconic performance in GTA V predates the start of filming by a year or thereabouts, no doubt influencing the casting decisions?

One thing I'm left wondering after the finale is how much of William's fall was a result of Logan? Would he have transformed into The Man in Black naturally, or was it only as a result of Logan shoving him over the Despair Event Horizon? After all, Westworld shows you your deepest self, so is the Man in Black William's deepest self or just a poisoned version of it?

[up]I agree if Logan didn't push him to play the game as a villain he wouldn't have been a villain or as bad as he became as "the Man in Black."

Right. The Man In Black is William's true self. William wouldn't have found it without Logan, but it would've still been him. Chances are his wife would've still felt it in him, too.

I think the idea of 'true self' VASTLY oversimplifies how this whole thing goes. I do think that Logan beat him down to such a state that he eventually just broke. Had Logan not broken him down like that, it would have taken something pretty significant to kick him down to rock bottom again.

I think the point is that William is both. People aren't good and evil, black and white, they are complicated beings. That's the whole point of the show, no?

His both... from a perspective of where he started to where he ended up. But that doesn't change that he's a complete monster right now.

OK, I got to episode 3 and noticed something already discussed here: Stubbs interacting with William when he shoots the outlaw Stubbs brought in. The weird thing being Stubbs being noticeably older than he was when he mentioned MIB's "special privileges" in the previous episode. Now, there would be only one explanation why he's aging backwards if at all, and that, I think, was shot down since he wasn't proved to be a Host.

One more thing about episode 3: apparently, Lauren is Arnold's wife, not Bernard's. This becomes obvious in the scene after her videocall - if you remember that it was Arnold who conversed with Dolores, not Bernard.

So I just had a fanfic thought: West World with a Lucky Luke perspective, maybe some My Name Is Nobody, Blazing Saddles, Maverick, The Adventures Of Brisco County Jr, heck, maybe even some ideas from Fallout. Because, seriously, would it kill Sizemore to have a little more sense of humor? Why does West World have to be so grimdark? Why don't they show the guests that are there for something other than killing and fucking?

[up] I get the dime schlock writer vibe from Sizemore, as in he wants to do the grimdarkest grimdark he can because he's so fucking edgy. No wonder Ford chews him out for that, even if Ford himself is pretty melodramatic in his ideas.

The Dime Novel is a legitimate inspiration for a western, but even those had fun happening.

[up]From the get-go it was obvious Sizemore's belief was True Art Is Angsty.

[up]Not only angsty, but with no backing to what makes it angsty. Ford is dramatic and can be angsty, but he has a backing to that base which makes it feel natural to the story. He even has the reference pool of great literature to help ease things along.

Sizemore just want to be Mark E Miller.

Anyway, Season 2 is finished filming and expected to be out around March or April. Also, an app game just launched too! Anyone excited?

I'm so ready.

The website has also been updated with a lot of new stuff. They have an AI Host you can talk to to get more info "because your visit" but Aadan also gives out error codes and hints about the future. "Guidebook" and "Wyatt" come up with interesting results.

James Delos is also apparently a character this season. He should be Logan's father and William's Father-in-Law. And, based on the age of the actors, he should be in his 90s. Given that Westworld has alluded that a lot of things like disease and health issues have been near universally corrected, and not to mention this man should theoretically be loaded, it makes sense he could be ass-kicking well into his 90s.

As for the Incomplete Host, My theory is that this is what Delos wants the Hosts for. They could make an impossible army. Unkillable. Not to mention, with their AI near perfectly human replication of movements and emotion, they could make AMAZING spies.

Soo ready for season 2. Great storyline, but also I love the music! Ramin Djawadi is definitely one of my favorite TV composers. I was looking up the Westworld soundtrack on You Tube, and I came across this gem! It's a Westworld theme acapella cover. I thought it was pretty good! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXqAUd88BH0

My conclusion so far is Ford made the Hosts sentient but his creations, ironically, are the ones who have the least humanity.

Maeve is the most human of them all and the one least interested in revenge/mass murder.
