Just a Face and a Caption: Playing Gertrude

Apparently it shows the Trope Namer. It does not show the trope, which is about characters (especially women) in middle age being played by actors around the same age as their offspring. Example◊ from Alexander.

The suggestion is marginally better.

Vote to pull the current, it's JAFAAC. The suggestion is better even if she looks like she's trying to seduce him, maybe that + a caption explaining it could work. Maybe this◊ photo with Val Kilmer, who plays the dad (15 years difference from Jolie, 16 from Farrell).

That pic with Kilmer is even better, the lack of age difference there is almost shocking.

I guess the Val Kilmer image could work.

The Kilmer pic works without a caption as well, so it's definitely better.

I don't think it works without a caption. Angelina could easily be mistaken for the wife of Alexander.

Wouldn't it be important to point out the supposed age of the Queen? Same as we did on Dawson Casting.

The clock is way past due on this one. I've put up the pic with the suggested caption but with Jolie and Farrell's ages bolded...if anyone comes up with something different, it can go to the caption thread. Locking up.
