Don't believe there's been a thread quite like this. A lot of gamers would have heard of Character Customization, they would have heard of Alt-itis or for games of Professional Wrestling the use of CAW or Create a Wrestler mode. They may have a great idea of who would be a kick ass UFC champ, the next Liddell or Rousy, or a clear picture of who Boss in Saints Row is. Older gamers may have fond memories of the likes of Perfect World and The Sims.

What this thread is about is sharing your creations. With the advent of online video hosting and game recording I'm sure a lot of gamers out there would be able and willing to show off some of their works. I'll start us off with a little video of some of what can be achieved in WWE 2K16.

If it weren't for Create-a-Soul, I don't think I'd still be playing Soul Calibur. I've commented on this before elsewhere, but I always feel more of a connection to characters I've personally created, or at the least had some input in, than to the original cast of a game. Even something as simple as a name and a color scheme is enough for me, but of course the more freedom I have, the better.

Here's an example of some of the characters I've made. There's way more where they came from, though!

Agreed, agreed, agreed. With the Soul Calibur games the main roster is pretty sweet but to have that option of creating your own fighter, and to have that detail of having their own voice (Male and Female 2 or 3 do it for me,) that is it's own brand of fun. Sure playing as say Kilik is fun but playing as tsstevens or what you think is cool, or say you want another Final Fantasy VII but since there isn't the next best thing is to make up Cloud and Sephiroth, or you can run up your own Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny and have Buffy with the scythe fight...hmmm, Mary Margaret. I mean Sure, Why Not?? For a game that has a customization mode, a good one, that really extends the life of the game. I know that it is a factor in purchases I make, and I do genuinely believe it is something to celebrate.

Some games have little need for such a mode. Shepard or Evelyn Trevallyn stand on their own as being awesome. But because the games have such a personal connect because it is you making the choices, writing the story, even without customization it treats you as the character rather than you playing the character, giving the option to do so and play in a way that the characters may not (The Inquisitor may side with the Templars rather than the mages for example, or Shepard may be pro or anti council) again it's great how these games treat you as your own hero rather as someone else's idea of one. Sure it's great to play as someone already established but there's no reason why you cannot play the game as Oliver Queen's distant ancestor or descendant if you wanted to.

Uh, sorry to bother, but can we shorten the title to just "Show Off Your Character Customizations Thread" or something, since it kills the forum's formatting? [lol]

City Of Heroes was my first introduction to the idea of this. And that game was probably the best way to be introduced to that all things considered...

[up][up]Agreed.

We finally moved one thread with a too long of a title to the next page, and now we have another one?
