The suggestion for Midair Repair is more true to the title but I kinda like the spectacle of the current a bit more. As for The Smart Guy, the suggestion is good with me.
I think Midair Repair is fine as it is and as for The Smart Guy, I think we can do a lot better. Maybe Kowalski

I fail to see how R2 qualifies (with the trope actually saying that he only handles "half of the duty", the hell?) and why exactly we're supposed to use Star Wars characters when there are perfectly serviceable images from other works but that's probably just me.
