Unchained Fate, Anything Goes Roleplay

It's better than nothing. I think more people might join once we get it going. The bulk of it all might have scared off some potential players, but the breadth of the RP might draw those interested in a wide variety of locales or the kind of large-scale genre/setting meshing we have going on now.

The Discussion thread is up, and I say the roleplay will begin in a few days once we work out the Opening Post.

Decided to try something a little different here. I might bring in Seth Stiles later, but for now...

• Name: Shock Sixxty (real name: Isaac Routh)
• Race: Human
• Appearance: Shock is 6'3", with a muscular build, dark skin, and brown dreadlocks that go down to his shoulders. He wears a customized throwback Golden State Warriors jersey—number 60, with the name "Shock" on the back—along with a pair of slightly baggy blue jeans, hi-top Nikes, aviator shades, and an Oakland A's snapback◊. He eschews jewelry in favor of a prop championship belt◊ that serves as the Battle Rap fighting circuit's official title belt. He has two tattoos, one on each shoulder. One of them portrays a leaping black panther; the other shows a pair of crossed swords.
• Personality: Shock is quick-witted and loves to trash talk his opponents, not because of arrogance, but because he thrives on competition and danger. He also has an incredible work ethic; if he decides to master something, he will work at it for as long as it takes to reach the level he wants to be at. He's proud of his heritage, his city, and his abilities, and he makes sure to represent all of those things as best as he can.
• Abilities & Skills: Shock is the undisputed master of the Black Panther fighting style, which combines kung fu with the Battle Rap circuit's signature superpowers. When he goes into combat and music starts playing, the environment reacts in ways he can't entirely control. Any given time the bass hits, a car might get launched five feet into the air or a window might smash and send glass flying everywhere. Shock can exert more control over this power by moving his hands back and forth like he's scratching a vinyl record, which enables him to telekinetically pick up and throw things like basketballs and trash cans at his opponents. These air scratches are also how Shock regains control of the music if his opponent has taken it from him.
• Inventory: Shock carries his cell phone and wallet with him at all times, as well as an electric stun baton for when he wants to defend himself, but doesn't want to unleash his full power.
• Backstory: Shock Sixxty is one of the many rappers trying to get known in the hip-hop scene of Oakland, California in Earthland. But where the majority of his peers get their income from mixtapes and gigs, Shock gets his from an underground circuit of fight clubs known only as Battle Rap. In these fights, music is just as integral as strikes and grabs, and combatants try to control not only the positioning and pace of fights, but the tracks playing in the background. The pay is good if you win, but the risks and the damage that come from losing mean that Shock has been the champion for longer than most people's careers in the circuit last. With his championship status came enough money that, for the first time in his life, he doesn't have to worry about how he's going to pay the rent this month or how he can make the half-tank of gas in his Saturn last an entire month. But in spite of that, Shock is starting to get a gnawing feeling that the circuit isn't enough. He wants to seek a new challenge, someplace that can put his skills to the test in a way that he's never faced before. Little does he know he's about to get his wish.

Where would a dragon biologist studying the properties of dragon cells and a qi manipulating martial artist fit, respectively?

I think Albion would definitely fit the first one. I'm hesitant to say Mysteria for the second one, since we seem to have quite a few people from Mysteria, but that seems to fit the second guy the most.

I'd say Albion fits them both.

I say put them where you please, the Storybooks aren't containment fields for their genres. After all, Nitro's acceptable character is a superhuman in Earthland for starters.

I'm going to be dropping out of this RP. Yes, I'm aware that it hasn't officially started yet, but I've been having second thoughts about it and I don't think it's going to do it for me.

Yeah, you're in Nitro. Anyways, I suppose I'll properly start up Unchained Fate today or tomorrow. More likely tomorrow, since I really need to finish Digimon Cyber Sleuth.

Aaaaaalrighty then! Here's my character profile, pal. As I've previously stated, she's kind of an unusual take on the Slime Girl trope... She's less of a Suu and more like Stay-Puff Marshmallow Man's lost sister.

• Name: Maggie (her real name is too technical, convoluted and long)
• Race: Homunculus
• Appearance: Her default form looks like a snow-white, rotund and vaguely humanoid figure with no apparent Tertiary Sexual Characteristics. A pair of beady eyes usually protrude from her "head"; they change color to reflect her mood. Her “skin” looks and feels like a mix between Silly Putty and marshmallow.
• Personality: She's quite cheerful, curious and energetic. She admires diligence, ingenuity and passion when it comes to other people. Unfortunately, because of her lack of worldly knowledge and experience, she can be rather naive and gullible at times. That said, making her mad is a terrible move, as she has no moral qualms when it comes to killing.
• Abilities & Skills: She's a proficient shape-shifter capable to taking almost any kind of form imaginable, with the caveat of being unable to alter her color at all. She can also modify most of her physical properties at will, including elasticity, viscosity, density, friction, to name a few. She also has a certain degree of super strength, the ability to remotely control and reattach fragments of her, and she's really difficult to kill... Though, she's quite vulnerable to freezing.
  Her final ability consist in devouring almost any kind of matter in a couple of seconds... However, because of her super-developed “taste buds”, she prefers to avoid using it unless it's absolutely necessary, as it's extremely unpleasant and nauseating to her when she has to eat “gross stuff”.
• Inventory: None.
• Backstory: Created in Mysteria by a deranged alchemist who attempted to synthesize a miracle substance capable of devouring any kind of matter, Maggie's birth was a fortunate accident. However, she was unable to fulfill her intended purpose because, while she had the ability to devour almost anything, she also acquired a super refined taste sense that prevent her from eating “gross stuff” without feeling sick and nauseous.
  Angry at his failed experiment, the alchemist tried to get rid of her, but Maggie retaliated by devouring him in a single bite. She roamed around, alone and confused for good while, until she was found by a humble cook that took pity on her. It was in the cook's restaurant where she discovered her passion for tasting delicious food. Once she had tasted everything the cook had to offer, she decided to travel to other lands in order to taste the most exquisite dishes out there.

Hey, uh, you still seem to have not responded. The "Organization" is an Oddly Small Organization of 5 people, and I'd only be playing as one member who actually gets involved in the RP proper.

Well put up an application and try not making me caution of the implications & possibilities.

Name: Steve (No Last Name Given)

Race: "I'm very obviously human."

Appearance: Steve is a somewhat tall human (about 6'1"), with a rather thin build. This is almost completely unnoticed, though, since he typically wears robes. The quickest way to pick him out of a crowd of robe-wearing people would be by either his shoulder-length wavy black hair, or by the red stripes in his thick but short beard. Said stripes start at the edges of his chin, and continue across his bottom jaw to his neck.

Personality: Steve can appear absentminded at times, but typically gets rather serious when the subjects of magic, combat, or magical combat come into play. "My other interests include philosophy, talking with people in the middle of battle, mocking my enemies, referencing things most people won't understand, and being a somewhat ghost-like being for a few months. Though, I haven't done that last one in quite a while." Overall, if one were to put him into an alignment chart, he'd be sitting right on the border of Chaotic Good and Chaotic Neutral. He's not always the good guy, but he usually tries to be good.

Abilities & Skills: Despite his... eccentricity... Steve is a rather powerful magic-user, capable of using chronomancy in unconventional ways, mimicking the abilities of elemental magic users, healers, necromancers, and even conjurers. His typical explanation on this is that the state of the universe is such that it can be assumed that anything feasibly possible could happen in the future, meaning that it is possible to use a spell to pull something from the future, whether that is an object, a creature, or even a spell, assuming one is skilled enough to pick the proper future. Likewise, it is also possible to reverse the flow of time specific to an object or location to return something or somewhere to location or a state it was once in... even if the change in state is as different as life and death. However, despite his knowledge of the potential powers of chronomancy, he has only a basic understanding of the standard applications of the school, and very little in the way of actual skill at it. The most he can do in regards to the standard applications of his chosen school is slow down or speed up time. He's also not absolutely worthless in melee combat, using knives, daggers, and his staff as weapons.

Inventory: Steve's standard equipment includes robes enchanted to protect both themselves and their wearer from magical damage; boots enchanted to allow him to allow him to levitate half an inch above the ground, and maintain that height or descend to half an inch above actual ground level; a pointy hat that serves no purpose other than signifying that he is, in fact, a user of magic; a knife and a dagger, both non-magical; a staff, used as a focal point for magical energy, but not inherently magical; and a bag of holding in which he can keep things, because he needs some way to justify being able to pick stuff up and carry it around despite his robes only having a small amount of pocket space.

Backstory: "If you want a backstory, I'm going to start at the beginning. I was born at a very young age, in a rather unremarkable part of Mysteria... fortunately, I don't really remember much of those early years. I don't actually remember anything before I was five, but according to what I've read, that's due to how the human brain develops, so that's nothing special.

"Apparently, though, while I was young, people determined somehow that I had magical talent beyond what most people have, so I was given very little of my childhood to be a child before I was given the opportunity to learn about the fundamental forces of magic at a rather prestigious academy. My parents were thrilled, and, wanting the best possible start for me in the world, sent me off to the city... My, how the years have flown by since then. I was ten when I left my home, and in eight years I learned all I needed to be declared a 'wizard', and earn my pointy hat. In the eight years since my schooling ended, though, I've learned more about the world... or, should I say, worlds than my parents ever thought was possible. I've spent most of that time in the Clockwork Kingdom. Their knowledge of the nature of time, as well as its potential applications, has... expanded my vision. This universe has a lot to offer... and I want to see it all. All the things I don't understand yet. All the things I'll never understand. I want to see them in person. Maybe I'll be one of those things to somebody.
