Name Association

Sometimes it gets confusing because a lot of anime are similar especially in the popular shounen fight genre so you get multiple characters with the same name. I know a guy who got really tired because he was a fan of a Son Goku from some other series that wasn't Dragon Ball but of course any time you mention Goku, people think DBZ.

I was also one talking about Death Note and Gundam and a guy pointed out I should specify Kira Yamato because...ya know, Kira is also from Death Note.

So, for any names with multiple characters attached to them, who do you think of first?

Some names I've seen semi-frequently:

Sakura

Setsuna

Rin

Just to get the ball rolling...

Sakura: Naruto's Sakura

Setsuna: Angel Sanctuary's MC

Rin: Inuyasha's Rin

No.

Cardcaptor Sakura.

As for Rin, I first think of the Kagamine twins.

Sakura: Not sure.

Setsuna: The twintail girl from Negima.

Rin: Fate series, maybe?

Isn't Setsuna the one with the weird spiky ponytail? The swordswoman. Asuna (among others) would be the one with twintails.

Setsuna: the guy who keeps insisting he's a Humongous Mecha.

Sakura: a certain injured little sister who took fifteen years from first being referred to to be named and animated.

Oh, hell if I know, I haven't seen that show in ages.

Sakura is always FSN Sakura for me. Setsuna is probably the one from Negima. Rin is Tohsaka Rin, but only because I can't immediately think of any others. I never call her that myself.
