Complaining: Anti Shipping Goggles

Would it be acceptable to you to keep Anti Shipping Goggles as a redirect to Shipping Goggles?

Again, what about examples which don't have anything to do with rabid shippers, and more to do with people who deny a ship on principle? As I described in my previous post.

Sorry ~Korodzik, I misread your post. After a nap and a meal, I agree that what you described can occur. My reading of the Shipping Goggles is that it can be it's one opposite term, perhaps with a little a tweaking of the description.

I think there should also be a redirect or some kind of link to Armed with Canon added to the Shipping Goggles page (again, for in-writer feuds) if we're going to merge the pages, but I suppose that's another point.

I'm a little lost. Are we disagreeing or not? If we need a crowner, I think this is what it would look like:

• Cut Anti Shipping Goggles.
• Merge Anti Shipping Goggles into Shipping Goggles. Keep examples.
• Merge Anti Shipping Goggles into Shipping Goggles. Cut examples, just make it an exampleless definition page.

Am I missing anything?

I mentioned earlier also cutting Shipping Goggles because Shipping already covers it (which the description for S.G. flat-out admits).

Shipping is the exampless super trope to Shipping Goggles and all our other shipping tropes. Yes, shipping covers it because it's a supertrope, but that's not all of what Shipping is.

merge both, ASG as a redirect, and mention the circumstances where it is definitely opposite of Shipping Goggles (refusing to acknowledge on principle) in the trope description. given the fact that it's based on people's opinions of other people's response to a work, it can be a legitimate trope added to Main namespaces, but it'd be best to keep examples off the trope page - especially with both SG and Anti-SG on the same page.

With a 9:4 ratio, and the next being 4:4, I think that's the consensus so far.

Note... I accidentally upvoted the "Keep Examples" option when I meant to downvote it. Is there... a way to change that? Or at least nullify it?

I don't really mind examples for Shipping Goggles, because it's not much different from other fan reaction articles, but mainly because there are people even on this very site who add examples on a work's main page based on their own interpretations and I'd personally like to see that discouraged. I voted for the merge and cut, though. Anti Shipping Goggles doesn't need examples and probably doensn't need to exist at all. It reads like it was made in retaliation to the other article.

Even with my accidental vote in the wrong direction, consensus seems to be holding at "Merge and cut examples."

I've cut the examples from both and added Shipping Goggles to the Example Sectionectomy page. Someone else will have to merge the descriptions.

Did this crowner vote to cut examples of Shipping Goggles? I'm suuuuuuuuper okay with the idea, but I was under the impression that it'd need its own TRS topic since it's a separate trop.

In any case, turned Anti Shipping Goggles into a redirect for Shipping Goggles and modified its description. When I get a chance, I'll change the 24 wicks to ASG.

I took it as all examples being cut after the merge due to what Discar said in post 33.

I'm not complaining, but I'd like to hear from a mod to make sure it's peachy.

The text does need looking at (in terms of tweaking the wording, that is).

If you've added this to the Example Sectionectomy list, paragraphs like the following need to be addressed:

Yes, cut anything referring to examples. Is there a Shipping Tropes index? If so, this should be on there, but replace that first quote in the description with "Examples belong on the appropriate Shipping Trope page. However, this page may be listed as a trope on a work's examples page."

In the Anti-Shipping reference part, the part about people not liking it for no reason beyond not liking the ship should be kept. This is when people have no shipping goggles at all, rather than anti-shipping something because it gets in the way of something else.
