So from what I could gather, it seems like the leaked teaser was supposed to be what they released, but then that got leaked and so they gave us this thing with Numbah's 3 and 4 leaking the video because well they had a countdown clock and they had to do something with it.

So yeah I still have no clue whats going on or whether this is just an April Fools joke or a teaser for something.

It seems to be an April Fools joke, though the end of the video said something along the lines of "If the demand is high, maybe it'll happen."

Isn't there another timer?

Well, it's a shame that this turned out to be "not Happening" on Cartoon Networks side of things. I was really hoping for something...

I guess that's what the "Emergency Recommissioning" for Dee, Laura and Gray were for though.

Apparently though, "No plans for a series" might be an April Fools joke.

Yea the timer was set to 24 hours again at midnight. So who knows maybe some more news will be released tonight.

Well, that's disappointing. I'm going to go cry in a corner now.

I haven't watched much Steven Universe, Uncle Grandpa gives me the creeps, Regular Show's good but hasn't held my attention, and Adventure Time is the sh't. But beyond those four, nothing else has really stood out to me on CN. Adventure Time and Regular Show are entering their 7th-8th seasons now IIRC, who knows how much longer those will go on for.

I think they could use a new series with strong continuity. Because I'm really missing those, and since I'm CN's target demographic, young adults with nostalgia, I think I'm entitled to cast a vote.

Symbionic Titan could've been one, but that got canceled. There's Ben 10 Omniverse (though, last I checked, there's heavy Internet Backdraft due to the retconning in that show).

That "stop the g'KND" video, and Lizzie saying "holy f'ck!" - this all seems like a joke, a little too risque if it wasn't. A series? I don't think there are enough of us yelling loud enough to find 3-4 seasons of gKND, and whatever plots and story arcs those seasons would contain. A new movie or special, that feels a little underwhelming, but hey, better than nothing, because this is an interesting storyline they've teased us with.

An Adult Swim series would... I think, without close control, turn out pretty sh'tty. When's the last time a cartoon got an "Age bump" on a different network? Ren and Stimpy, which was a pretty messed up cartoon to begin with, admittedly.

There was a "parody/prequel" to Ed Edd n Eddy called "The Bro Show" about Eddy's brother and teenage pregnancy. The Bro Show kind of works because Eddy's Brother, as revealed in the movie finale, was a dick, and represented probably one of the darkest, most Dude, Not Funny! moments in the show - so a show about him would be equally dark. But that wouldn't necessarily work for Kids Next Door. The Bro Show is obviously low budget, not even trying to hide the vulgarity - and I don't want that from a KND sequel.

An [as] KND sequel would either turn into an adult-rated parody of itself, or, it'd turn into something amazing.

In a perfect world, "Adult Swim-funded" successor to Kids Next Door could be great, maintain the Original Flavor with all of the original voices, only acknowledging that it's primary audience has grown up quite a bit since KND's conclusion and that the show can be handled with a little more maturity. I can't think of another cartoon that's progressed in this fashion, one that acknowledged it's demographic's aging and changed it's themes and design to match, but I'm sure there's some. This hint at it's plot, "Numbuh One being the villain", the Galactic Kids Next Door being the antagonist, the fate of Earth in the balance - it sounds awesome, a novel idea, nothing I expected from a CN series that more-or-less saw conclusion.

(EDIT: Ah! I remember now! Avatar and Ben 10. Legend of Korra was a little more adult than TLA, and Ben 10 was a very silly, if consistent Saturday morning cartoon - then Alien Force and Ultimate Alien came along and it started taking cues from Justice League Unlimited. I always thought that was interesting, a show's theme and style aging with its hero and its demographic.)

In this world, though, I can only be reminded that Aqua Teen Hunger Force still exists, that Adult Swim dumped Big O on it's second season cliffhanger, that Adult Swim aired anime between 1'am and 5'am, that Adult Swim dropped Futurama and possibly The Boondocks, that Squidbillies is still a thing, and that I don't watch Adult Swim anymore, not even for King of the Hill.

I think I'd prefer no KND revival to a KND revival on [as]. It wouldn't make any sense for it to be aired there. I see people who use Toonami as proof that [as] should be a network for old kids show nostalgia, but even Toonami tries its best to emphasize new content over the nostalgia shows (DBZ and Naruto aside).

And the reason The Big O never got a third season while Aqua Teen will last forever is because The Big O cost a lot of money, and Aqua Teen can be made really cheap. Adult Swim's whole deal is subversive programming on a budget, anything too expensive to make can't support itself in their late time-slot unless it manages to become a huge hit (like Robot Chicken or the Boondocks).

I guess I can sympathize with it being too expensive, but I'm still far from happy about it.

I guess Venture Bros reinforces that. As little as I see it on, it seemed to be a big hit 4-5 years ago.

It's certainly more of a hit than The Big O ever was. Not as big as Boondocks or Robot Chicken or any of the Fox shows, but it also costs less to make and air than those. Its animated by Titmouse now, [as] uses them for a lot of their shows because they can make flash animated shows look good without breaking the bank.

And even though its not on the schedule right now, it rotates in and out with their other original programming all the time. Its on maybe a little less than most of their other shows because most of the episodes are kind of old, and its not a huge ratings grabber.

if that's the case, then i recommend you give Steven Universe a shot. it's only a season in, but a good number of the episodes has a callback or reference to something that happened or something that was revealed in a previous episode.

I've heard great things about Steven Universe.

Steven Universe is excellent. It has a strong sense of continuity, and its episodes are good at putting your emotions through the wringer.
