Good point about the current and a good suggestion. Although I'd suggest a vertical stack in the frames in the suggestion to allow more width. The very top of each could also be cropped down a bit to make it less tall when they're vertical.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Awesome suggestion, but quality is bad. Can you provide a link to the source?

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Excellent.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Best version so far.
I actually don't mind the lack of blank space between the images, but 10 is good, too.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanExcellent.
Anything to stop us switching this out then?
With my additional vote it's probably safe to say it's got consensus, so go ahead.
Check out my fanfiction!I like 10 as well, so I went ahead and put it up.
Cool. Caption or no?
"Also not recommended: Throwing a grenade in the company of a dog."
References a different trope, but I couldn't think of anything else.
Check out my fanfiction!"Hot pursuit."
I vote captionless.
Rhymes with "Protracted."No consensus on a caption; locking up.
Infernal Retaliation just shows a fight between a guy on fire and a... lizard thing? I guess from the context that maybe it breathes fire, but there's not really any direct sign that that's what's happened.
This, from Penny Arcade (cropped), seems to communicate the trope a lot better:
