The character in the new one may be an excellent fit for the trope, but it's a poor page illustration. Aside from the fact that he's lighting a cigarette, there's nothing that particularly says "Badass" about him.

The old pic is definitely better than the Custer pic...do we want to mess with finding something else or just put it back?

Yeah, I think we're done here. I'll tag the page for this thread if it's not already done; locking up.
The image in Badass Preacher was changed without discussion from the Father in Machete to Jesse Custer from Preacher. In either case, it's also a case of Just A Face And A Caption, in that while the new one has just a punk-looking Preacher who's just recognizably badass for those who read the story, while the previous image had a priest wielding two shotguns.
