This trope is lacking an illustration, and I found one where it is very obvious:

Opening and I like that one.

That suggestion is fine, but here's another one to consider:

The quality may be a bit worse, but I like the fact that the duck on the right is actually leaning out between the bars.

EDIT: Cropped out a Youtube bug in the upper right that I didn't notice earlier.

Both work quite well, but I prefer the ducks for the leaning out aspect.

I also support the one with the ducks, for much the same reasons listed above.

I was actually surprised that MLP played it straight. I'd think Pinkie Pie of all characters would take note of this. So, yeah, the duck one is better for lampshading it.

Honestly, I think the Darkwing Duck pic is BETTER quality than MLP, just because it isn't Flash. Those bars are nothing but solid grey in color. The scene looks like it was made with MS Paint.

3 is even better than the Pony image, although that one has a place in an Image Links article.

[up] Agreed.

EDIT: We've got enough consensus for the ducks pic, so it's up, potholed (to Darkwing Duck, is that right?), and tagged. Since we only have one other option, I added the MLP pic to its example on the page.

Caption or no?

^ Yes, that's Gosalyn from Darkwing Duck, so the pothole is correct.

Yup, final choice is a better illustration than my suggestion. It's surprising it wasn't illustrated already, as it is a rather visual trope.

So, caption? BTW, the page quote sucks. I saw what it's referring to in the linked article, but it has no context on its own. That quote needs to go.

Yeah, ax the quote. I don't have a caption for the pic, but I do have a replacement quote from Adventure Time, that I wish I had a picture of the scene to accompany it.

I almost made a remark on the quote too, but then I decided it was for another thread, and just forget about it. But I too think it should go. That's a topic for the General Page Quote Discussion, however.

Since the quote discussion is going on in the repair thread and we don't have any caption discussion going on, let's go ahead and lock up.
