Yep, doesn't look like the trope to me, either.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI definitely agree that if we're doing JAFAAC on this, it should at least look like the stereotype. Thinking of suggestions...
This will need a comic or manga panel, nothing else will really work IMO.

The current isn't great, but it does look like a professor and it does look like absent-mindedness.
So Keep Until Better Image Suggested.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!? Would probably have to be flipped though.

I haven't a clue about who's on the current image, but I think it works just fine. Maybe not the most clear of images, but it gives the right idea.
She seems more like a workaholic.

Check out my fanfiction!Very weak Keep Until Better Image Suggested for me.
I know the current image was chosen by a previous thread. Why can't I find it?
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed. Are you being absent-minded? Yeeeeaaaaaaah!
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! The first of those seems the most illustrative, but it still doesn't strike me as being better than the current image.
Perhaps you were thinking of this thread? It's the only related thing I could find in the search.
Oh
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.I personally don't think it's too bad. I managed to get the general idea of the trope from looking at it.
same here.
I agree. It looks fine to me.
I should be working right now...The current is bad. A guy in a labcoat looking pensive does not really imply absent-mindedness. Like it's been said before, let's try to find an image that at least actually looks a bit like the stereotype.

"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."^He's more of a Bungling Inventor.
I think the current image is great. The white coat and spectacles are a good visual cue, especially along with the frazzly hair, and he's visibly spacing out while holding a sandwich, which is great.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Keep Until Better Image Suggested.

I vote Keep Until Better Image Suggested, too. He does kinda have that forgetful/absent-minded look on him.
I like 9.1; others don't really grab me. Current is still okay to me, he has a forgetful look on his face, so it's not actively harming the page, so it's not bad enough to pull without replacement.
Clock is set.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanClock is up with no progress; closing this.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman
Not even terribly looking like the common image of the Absent-Minded Professor, besides the Labcoat of Science and Medicine.
