Anything Kojima would make needs way more money than Kickstarter could ever supply, but seriously if Kojima went to any of the other big publishers they'd let him do nearly whatever he wants, no questions asked cause he's fucking Kojima.
My bets are that after MGS 5 either Sony or Microsoft are gonna snap him up, throw a bunch of money at him and basically let him do whatever the hell he wants as long as it's exclusive to their platform. They'd be stupid not to, especially in the wake of the massive news surrounding PT and Silent Hills.

Not a bad idea (far from it), but what if someone Took a Third Option and got Kojima into Nintendo?
Not likely. At least not in-house. He's really good friends with Masahiro Sakurai though, so they might collaborate on something for them.
Masahiro Sakurai, Hideo Kojima, and Guillermo del Toro present: Super Silent Bros.
I'd play it. Wouldn't you?
"We're home, Chewie."Kojima's friend circle is really large. Seeing his photos from events like E3 are really funny because one moment he's sharing a drink with the Platinum teams and the other he's eating dinner with Tetsuya Nomura or Kazuo Hirai or taking selfies with Troy Baker.
Well, Baker's been working for him, so that one's not really a surprise. :P
Honestly I wouldn't think Nintendo would try to snap up Kojima simply because of budgetary reasons (Nintendo aren't the type to dumb lots of money into a project right out the gate) tbh it could happen
Not to mention Cyber Connect 2 president Hiroshi Matsuyama worships the ground Kojima walks on.
Watch SymphogearNintendo isn't a stranger when it comes to horror games. They had Fatal Frame V, Eternal Darkness, Dementium: The Ward, Theresia: Dear Emile, Nanashi no Game, to name a few.
I honestly don't think Silent Hill would look out of place on a Nintendo console.
I think the only reason it'd be weird would be because it's a Playstation-focused series XD
The Protomen enhanced my life.Probably why Konami dumped him. He became bigger than Konami and they can't have that.
I'm a skeptical squirrelStill cancelled.
BUT there's a neat podcast by some people I like that analyzed the plot of the demo and the trailers some more, so.
...Maybe this will help with closure and mourning.
...Sorry if this got anyone's hopes up.
Weren't those the same people who posted the first video explaining how the final puzzle actually worked?
I'll have to give it a watch later.
I still don't really know how the last puzzle works.
Or what the hell was happening.
Oh really when?Del Toro says that he and Kojima are working on something together that isn't Silent Hills.
Frankly, given how different PT was from everything else in the series, it'll probably end up being heavily influenced by the direction they were planning to go without having to include the actual element on the town of Silent Hill.
He also says that they were drawing heavily from the Psycho Mantis fight in Metal Gear Solid as an inspiration; specifically the way a game can actually interact with the player and get in their head.
Part of me would love that level of mindfuckery from a Silent Hill-esque game but the rest of me is just like dear god no.
Oh really when?I would not be surprised if the end result of this is something much closer to P.T. than Silent Hills would have been, because as a consequence of no longer operating under the Silent Hill brand, they are no longer obligated to stick to formula regarding mechanics, themes, environment, etc.
Like, they could have actual ghosts. Or non-shitty combat controls. Or no combat at all. They could keep the first-person perspective, or use different puzzle mechanics, etc. With a brand comes certain expectations, but with an all-new IP, the sky's the limit.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.They aren't going to be able to use the FOX Engine though.
God that'd be great.
But now that I think about it, what will happen to the FOX Engine? If Konami is checking out of the video game market is it just gonna sit and rot?
The thing makes Unreal 4 and Frostbite look like children's toys, it'd be such a shame to see it go unused
Oh really when?An option less likely to be copyrighted but still just as full of pointed spite would be to call it the HOUND engine.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Ooh, I see what you did there, Tobias.
Also it's nice to see that guys like Kojima and Del Toro aren't gonna let the dickish attitude of Konami keep them from doing something beautifully twisted.
...I don't understand why Konami couldn't have had this game be the last hurrah instead of MGSV.
