Chapter 23 is out.
Seriously, do sisters like that exist?
A little unsubtle, this chapter, but I liked it. Everyone else in the band had experience with their instrument, but Yuu's starting from scratch.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise. It's a tad better than the authors previous stuff(which I could never get through honestly), probably because it takes itself a bit less seriously. One of the recent chapters (I dunno, like 20 or something. The "wings" one, made me hope this was actually the same universe as his best series and would end up joining it.
Designed winner from really early on is basically standard in harem series now I think. Mainly so your MC isn't a jerk and it's the only satisfying ending when Marry Them All isn't possible.
Chapter 24 is out.
It would have been better if they had shown someone in the street. As it is, it looked pretty deserted, so Yuu and Tama seem more bushwhacked than careless. If this wasn't deliberately done by somebody, then it seems kind of...
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.pooor, poor Tama.you just entered the rejection route.never try to force things.publicly at least.
Secret SignatureOh god, chapter 25 is out. I laughed. I laughed SO HARD.
Best chapter of any manga I've seen in a long time.
The worst. Literally the worst. Massive shipper. Also a Bay12 Denizen.Well.
That happened.
Seemed more like she was burning her feelings on the pyre than trying to force the issue, but we'll have to see what the fallout is.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Chapter 26 is available.
Seriously, he didn't call her or anything?
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Chapter 27: Ooops...
This looks like a really good time for Garfunkel and Oates' preshow affirmation.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Chapter 37 out.
sooo,this had a prequel right?
stupid needless drama.i havent even read the prequel but i feel like s*** for her parents.
Secret SignatureDid not see this coming.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.I stopped reading this back at like chapter 8 or so, but I've been following it via thread on another forum. Made me curious what people here think/thought of the last three chapters.
Kinda disgusted here.is it a shocking swerve?yes.is it a "ballsy" move? also yes.
did i find it needlessly dramatic and half a**ed?hell yeah!
not sure if i'll follow the "main" story now.Fuuka annoyed me at times, but she was nice.now this.
Secret SignatureSurprised, me. From threads in other places, this is being treated as par for the course from this author, but since this is the first series by this person that I've read, I was caught flat-footed. I'm really keen to see where this goes from here.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Ballsie is about right. I wonder if it got suddenly got canceled? I mean, if it stick you gotta change the name, right?
I'm kinda hoping this is the Princess Lucia universe and she'll come back as a ghost or angel or something. I'd care what it inspires him to do, I don't want to read 200 issue of him angsting about some dead girl.
they'll probably name the band after her.
Secret SignatureProbably. so boring

Daremo, you need some context for this.
Seo Kouji's first big series was Suzuka, which basically had relationship shenanigans like his other series. Dumb love triangles, infuriating developments, etc. It basically ended with the birth of the main couple's child, which is Fuuka. Seo's next big story was Kimi no Iru Machi, which had some cameos here and there by Suzuka's main couple and Fuuka. Longtime Seo readers have conceivably had enough time to watch how Fuuka developed from a baby all the way to a teenager.
And then Seo killed her off. It's just... I didn't even read Suzuka, but this is some cold-hearted shit. I'm sure you weren't the only one surprised. I mean, it's something that I could have imagined Seo would do if someone had told me it was going to happen, but it's still shocking. He's an absolute madman.

That... huh. That really is a ballsy move. I stopped reading this pretty early on because I had already read Kimi No Iru Machi, thank you very much, but I might just pick it up again just to see where the author will be taking this.

This actually makes me interestd in reading it. Seo's stuff always sounded (when described) like something I'd enjoy, but I never really got around to reading it.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntRe: 39
I can't see that as anything but cruel. Yuu needed a kick in the pants, but there had to be a better way. That was just all sorts of messed up.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise. Also, judging from some earlier tweets, apparently what happened wasn't what was initially planned, but Seo figured that it would cause more drama, so there you go.
I read a translation that said that he originally planned for Fuuka to get amnesia, but for some reason it was changed to what we got. That's... yeah. Pretty Seo.
My God, this last chapter.
Seo, you beautiful trainwreck of an author.
Well, Fauxka is pretty attractive and endearing for what it's worth. I give it ten chapters before Optimus 2: Electric Boogaloo.
Truck best girl.
Secret Signature
A recent shonen romance, up to Chapter 22.
Thus far a quite likable tale of a morose Twitter obsessed boy and a lively music obsessed girl.
I quite like Yuu, for all that he is quite stock.
Although this author has a distinct pattern for their manga, it would be nice if this could be a mold breaker. The potential is there, though I already know it won't happen.
So how do you feel about this sort of 'destined couple from page 1'?
