By convention, one should get around 15 votes in a given motion, and the crowner should stay open for at least 3 days and until it stabilizes, whichever comes later.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanOkay. The crowner's been open for a week, so we'll wait for something to get 15 votes.
While we're waiting for a new title to get the required number of votes, maybe we can make a list of subtropes to go under the new supertrope. So far we have:
2. The proposed new trope (whatever the title ends up being)
3. Something covering a situation where a woman's reputation is ruined due to her spending time alone with a man, but she's not actually pregnant—does this need a new subtrope or is it just the supertrope? Can supertropes even have examples?
4. A situation where a man is socially pressured to marry a woman he's had sex with—I believe this would need a new YKTTW. (I was thinking of something like "Make Her An Honest Woman" for the name.)
5. We should keep an eye on the development of the YKTTW currently named "Accepting Fatherly Responsibility" (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/discussion.php?id=ud4xjvgb8hz0iqitqhmf1las), as it could also go here and might make #4 above redundant depending on how broad the definition ends up being if it's launched..
Anything else?

Supertropes can very definitely have examples. Most supertropes do. A supertrope is simply a trope that's spawned at least one variant that has become a trope in its own right.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Bumping in the hope of getting more votes so we can move forward with this one.
Calling this crowner in favour of Give the Baby a Father.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThanks! What do I need to do next—or does someone else do the next step?
Well, we need a text (maybe through YKTTW?) for the supertrope, first.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI am in the middle of busy season at work, so if anyone else wants to take a stab at it, please be my guest. Otherwise, I'll get to it when things die down a little for me.
Clock is set. Has anything been done with this since the last post?
I'm just getting ready to post a YMMV ... how long do I have?
Okay, I uploaded a VERY rough YKTTW for this trope:
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/discussion.php?id=n3b9y3v5b8mbzpfb7bvds9rx
I could use some help with the YKTTW. I'm finding it surprisingly hard to come up with examples of a woman's reputation being ruined when she's not actually pregnant, even though I feel like I've Seen It A Million Times. More examples and/or some suggestions on how to improve the text would be very welcome.
Also, do I need to do a YKTTW for Give the Baby a Father, or do I just move it automatically whenever the new version of Honorable Marriage Proposal is ready to launch?

I think the YKTTW is pretty close to a final form. I'd really appreciate any last feedback and/or hats anyone wants to give.
Also, a heads-up that there's now a new YKTTW for an even bigger supertrope, "Marriage of Convenience":

I'll go check over the yk for Honorable Marriage Proposal if you like
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!Thanks, lakingsif!
The YKTTW for the new Honorable Marriage Proposal has five hats, and I feel ready to launch it. Am I okay just to move the current one to Give the Baby a Father and replace it with the new one? Or is there something else I need to do first? I don't want to get reprimanded for doing it wrong!
For moving current Honorable Marriage Proposal to Give the Baby a Father I'd scrap the link to Shotgun Wedding from the first line "not the father of the child", maybe say it's a Sub to Honorable Marriage Proposal. You're probably okay with just cutting it over, but note it in the edit reasons and maybe link this thread on the discussion page? Looking over the yk now
EDIT: yk looks good, just add folders for examples, like: [[folder:MediaType]] examples [[/folder]]

OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!Okay, I've moved the previous entry to Give the Baby a Father, and I've launched the reworked Honorable Marriage Proposal. Thanks very much to everyone who helped out with this discussion! Also, lakingsif has started a new y k for a supertrope to the supertrope, Marry For Convenience: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/discussion.php?id=d3l2svzzleyocwi6omrvshz8
I've just done a wick check on previous wicks that pointed to Honorable Marriage Proposal. I've moved some of them to Give the Baby a Father, but some of them fit the new definition of Honorable Marriage Proposal better anyway, so I just left them as they were.
Honorable Marriage Proposal also has a Playing With that needs to be moved. Is there a page somewhere on how to create a Playing With? I can't figure out how to make the new page.
I'll move the Playing With page over real quick. It looks like it's almost perfectly suited still to Give the Baby a Father. I'll leave the Honorable Marriage Proposal one a blank template for the moment

Thank you!
Lythande is doing this little extrapolation project where he finds what appear to be missing sub tropes from the definition of Marriage of Convenience, which is the Super-Super-Trope of any sort of relationship that isn't Marry for Love. As a laconic.

Crown Description:
Okay, sorry for being premature. (As I've said, this is my first time doing this.) How many do we need to be sure, and/or how long should the crowner stay open?
