Yes, but you need to know the context of his story to know that. The picture alone doesn't convey it. And while odds are that everyone who comes to tv tropes is going to know at least the bare bones of Batman's story, ideally the picture should get the trope across without needing to know any further context.
If I never had seen or read anything to do with Batman before, I'd see that picture and think "Dude who is by some graves" or "Really weirdly dressed dude standing by some graves", and that would be it.

It's reasonable to conclude someone visiting a grave has had death in their past.
It's reasonable to assume someone visiting a grave dressed as a bat has... issues.
Put the two together, with no a priori knowledge, and you have to conclude the past death has caused a lot of psychological harm.
Is that not clear from the pics? If not, what do you suggest as a good example or franchise to search from?

I killed it. That image is gone now, but it will always remain as an unfortunate part of our collective past. Though we want to forget how horrible it was, its haunting ghost shall linger on the fringes of our memories till the end of time.
