1MM hated the shit out of the show because of the gay dads already. So no big "Loss".

You know, I actually had a Father's Day fic planned for this Sunday, but now I'm afraid it'll be overshadowed by the inevitable flood of Luna x Sam fics.

Like... I'm still pretty bummed out about being spoiled, and I don't know if I can muster up the confidence to finish my fic. Please, somebody in this thread give me that sweet, sweet confidence juice.

If your fic is good and unique, I think it would be a disservice not to write it. Cmon' dont deprive us of that sweet father's day fic! I bet it will be awesome!

Okay, just saw the new episode.

I know crushes are usually minor things, but idk, something feels wrong about watching Lincoln obsess over someone else. I mean, if it was that same girl at the comics store fighting over the Ace Savvy in that Sequel Episode or Hattie or something...but idk.

Somewhat bothered about Lucy having another crush too, not completely, but somewhat.

I know, Negative Continuity is amuck with this show, but still.

Loved the rest though (especially the ending), I did have a bit of a Headcanon that Lynn's (Jr) first mentioned crush would be In Touch with His Feminine Side, but eh.

Huh, and here I joked about her being a lesbian because of her haircut. Well, guess Luna is bi, thus confirming many headcanons.

But seriously, this week is really fucking with the radars. Especially with yesterday's episode which have a baby kind of but not really say the word "Dammit".

Well, it's looking solid so far. That last scene between Luna and Lincoln was beautifully written: very touching. I'm intrigued to find out how Luna's intentions to come out to her family play out.

I saw some people celebrating on Twitter. This show certainly gets points for progressive depictions of LGBT+ characters.

And for being one of the first kids shows with characters here their sexuality is stated in the show rather than Word of Gay.

Is "Luann is secretly depressed" a common plot in fanfic? Since it's kind of a thing that comedians are secretly depressed.

Well there have been plenty of fan fics and fan art/comics which does depict Luan as a Sad Clown so yeah its a common fan fic plot.

I'm still waiting on the fan fic which is basically a recreation of that one episode of Black Dynamite that features Richard Pryor who is actually a depressed man whose recount of his entire life is seen as just s comedy routine. I love that episode, too bad it got awkward to watch nowadays after the Robin Williams suicide.

Yeah, I've seen it a fair number of times. Once I read a fic where Luan falls into a deep depression after Robin Williams dies.

Is it just me, or is the show getting even better, because the recent run of episodes have been fantastic (I watch on Google Play so for me that's Back out There/Spell it Out, and Potty Mouth/L is for Love)? I liked Spell it out in particular because it was the rare episode almost completely focused on someone other than Lincoln (Patch it Up and Relative Chaos are the only others I can think of), also as a grim introvert I relate to Lucy.

Yeah, I agree. The latest string of episodes all ranged from good to fantastic, producing some of the best of the series so far (particularly L is for Love).

Anyway... I noticed this thread has been inactive for a while, so I thought I should mention that I just wrapped up another fic - Shrinkin' Lincoln, about Lisa accidentally miniaturizing Lincoln with a prototype shrink ray. Hope y'all like it!

Been watching the show on Amazon 3 episodes left till I finish Season 1 then I'll start Season 2.

So I finally watched No Such Luck. ...Lynn's a bitch. What Lincoln should of done was basically put all the blame on Lynn saying he wasn't going to go to any more events if he was going to be blamed if something went wrong.

Also say this after his confession was rejected: “I guess you’re not a great athlete then.” Lynn-WHAT? I’M A GREAT ATHLETE! “By saying I’m bad luck, you’re saying you’re not a good athlete since your attributing all your victories and losses to random chance. So which is it?” Basically he traps her-by saying he's bad luck, she's saying she has no skill as an athlete. If she says she's a great athlete, she can't say he's bad luck and the other team just played better that day (and she's just a sore loser)

This would of made the episode WAY better.

I disliked it because I felt it dehumanized the family into a single entity. That’s not entertaining to watch. When you have a bunch of distinct personalities in a room together the humor comes from how they play off each other. Take that away and you take away the humor. This isn’t just an NSL issue either, but this is perhaps the worst offender. When Lincoln is one on one with a sister or when they're all competing with each other they're great. When they’re a single-minded mob though? Not so much.

Well all know that No Such Luck is awful, but the episodes that aired this week are not.
