Speaking of the son reveal, anyone else think it may have been a trick?
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranI figured that was a shout out to another famous Mark Hamill kiss.
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."I can still hope for the show to pull a Arrow Realization on Iris and tell her soon without much ado that Barry is the Flash. Like Ollie did with Thea, and it was perfect.
This episode was extremely enjoyable. I'm surprised how the villains manage to be so campy yet threatening, it is by far the closest I have seen to a true live-DCAU show.
I wonder if Thawne melding with Wells, or stealing his body, didn't have a side effect in him becoming a bit more human after all. Also, what became of "real Wells body?" He got killed, I understand, but did his body disappear?
The real Wells is the skeleton in the ground that Joe and Lance were standing over in the preview.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureThe Recap page mentions that Thawne probably got some benevolence from Wells, hence Pet the Dog. Me wonders if we will end up with a Superpowered Evil Side plot for Season 2? Ie Wells will be asserted as the main persona and Thawne will be put asleep.
Don't really see Henry Allen as replacing Wells as head guy. Wasn't he a medical doctor?
"You can reply to this Message!"And of course it's the "lie to her to protect her" nonsense. What I don't get about this logic is what does it say about how Barry feels about other people who know his secret? Joe, Eddie, the STAR Labs crew, the Arrow Team what about them? Does Barry not care about their safety? Why is it that most super hero adaptations only seem to put emphasis on protecting the love interest?
I'd like an inverse of the situation where the danger is more on Ollie to turn heel than Barry.
For the musical episode can't you just see Barry singing "He knew what he was doing when he told me how to walk this way"?
Plus of course "Flash" and "Where Are We Runnin'?" by Lenny Kravitz.
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."You know the Trickster may have been joking, but it wasn't sanitary for Barry to inject people with the same syringe.
Yeah, well, it would've been a lot less sanitary to let them all die of poison.
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon. My brain took a night to catch up, but I think that device Eobard used on the real Wells was intended for Barry, which is in keeping with his comic book goals. So when he said he was there to kill Barry, he left out the 'and replace' part—maybe?
Also, Eddie now knows he was further lied to about Barry's 'lightning psychosis', though Barry could argue that he was messed up by his transit through time.
I know its meant to sound all future, but isn't 'Eobard' an archaic form of Edward?
Joe and Eddie are cops who put their lives on the line, Papa Flash is safely locked up in Iron Heights, STAR Crew have already had their lives threatened, Team Arrow are vigilantes or have had their lives threatened due to their association with Ollie and Roy. Iris is the only one without the training or expirence to deal with the dangers, aside from Tony and Clock King.
That and she comes across as very April O'Neil to me. No matter what they tell her, I feel like she'd want to chase the story regardless of the danger and their warnings.
Case in point, the fact that she has already done it before with putting The Flash's information out there in spite of the dangers of doing so being pointed out and Flash asking her not to.
I personally have no issues with keeping Iris in the dark only because I imagine she'll do something stupid with that information.
Improving as an author, one video at a time.Or Barry can just tell Eddie- truthfully- that there are some side effects to being the Flash, and that sometimes things happen like running into a personality altering meta.
Also, even though the big reveal was Barry's identity, the operative secret right now is what Wells is up to, not that Barry is the Flash - Barry told Eddie about the latter because he needed his help preserving the former (he did make a choice between Iris' safety and Eddie's safety, but Eddie was already involved in Joe's investigation of Wells). Neither the Star Labs Crew nor the Arrow crew know that yet - Cisco finding out was erased form existence - and during the preview Joe only seems to tell Lance after they find Wells' body, since that's not something Lance can otherwise ignore.
Barry sincerely acknowledges that he's going to tell Iris, just that he doesn't feel he can right now. Contrast Ollie, who tends to hoard his secrets as ruthlessly as possible, even when he watches people's lives burn in front of him as a result of not knowing.
Though Barry really needs to tell Iris, I can understand them not wanting to a lot more than the secret keeping in Arrow. It's a lot more forgivable here, because Flash hasn't been giving us the message that keeping secrets is more dangerous than letting it out for over a season. Instead, it's been showing us that the moment people learn of these secrets, they "disappear."
However, as a general rule telling your loved ones your Secret Identity is much smarter than keeping it hidden from them, so I hope they don't end up dragging this out. I doubt it, since it definitely looks like they're leading up to a reveal to Iris soon, probably in the season finale.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I honestly thought The Stinger was going to be Iris figuring it out on her own. She had kinda a thoughtful look on her face when he was talking during the poison thing (when he forgot to reverb his voice).
I agree with all of you Iris needs to be told that Barry is the Flash. I got angry when Joe West said, "It's better that she stays in the dark."
I was like, "YOUR DAUGHTER DESERVES TO KNOW!!!!!!"
And I'm pretty sure she is going to be angry at both her father and Barry for keeping this secret from her when she finds out.
I'd kind of love for her to figure out off screen, and when barry tells her, he can just go "yeah, I guessed." "So...you're not mad?" "Of course I'm mad, you lied to me. A lot. but that can wait until (after whatever disaster)"
I mean, she's already in danger, she's connected to the Flash by her blog for regular villains, and Harrison Manipulative Wells/Thawne knows what she means to Barry.....telling her can't put her in more danger, can it? She's already looking for clues and the story, wouldn't it be better for her to be forwarned?
Anyway, watched the episode with Roommate AND Unprepared Friend Via skype. It was pretty great. We collectively lost our shit over the Starwars reference, and freaked out our other roommates
Got a degree in Emotional trauma via fictional characters aka creative writing. hosting S'mores party in Hell for fellow (evil) writersI'm really hoping they don't keep Iris in the dark beyond season 1. I think a lot of the problems that are causing the character's current unpopularity can be traced back to her being the only major character who is still in the dark about Barry being the Flash. With Eddie and Barry's father being brought in on the secret in just one episode, it's only getting more problematic.
I agree. It would be kind of neat if, when Barry does the reveal, she admits she already knew. Or alternatively, if she accidentally makes a reference to Barry being the Flash, because she figured it out so long ago that the fact she had never technically been told simply slipped her mind.

Barry's dad already knew, he was just never explicitly verified.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand!"They gave me cable in prison so I would stop killing the guards."
"Oh."
My favorite moment of the episode.
"War without fire is like sausages without mustard." - Jean Juvénal des UrsinsI'm... kinda disappointed that the RF's attack on Barry's mom reveal was so straightforward. I was hoping to get it slowly teased out over a long arc, not just dumped in one episode. I'd've loved that mystery over if the Wells in love with Sarah was Eobard, or not. I have been loving the question of why there seemed to be two different R Fs.
At least there's still some of the battle left to be seen, but not much.

Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Keep in mind that not telling Iris wasn't Barry's idea, it was always Joe's idea and something that Joe pushed on Barry.
Now I think that Barry should have just stood up to Joe and explained that Iris is an adult and deserves to know, but I get why he hasn't.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranI don't know if any of them are thinking this but I think Iris not knowing is a good thing. If she did the relationship BS would just get even worse.
Mayor Bellows was a cop in the 1990's Flash series. He was even played by the same actor.
