Bishamon is a buddhist deity.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntOn episode 2, and not really impressed. The animation is the best thing about it. But I'll watch one more episode before I decide if it's worth my time or not.
Hey, I've moved to a new account! I go by Silver Glyph now.Shinto, and religion in Japan in general, has a lot of influences from a lot of places; it's certainly not clear cut, and there's a lot of intermixing and local differences in religions and practices.

Keep Rolling OnHuh...that episode with the guy attempting suicide...seems like it's actually a sidestory in a "spin-off" manga (it's...not actually a spin-off, looks like it's a collection of sidestories. Can't tell right now though, because only that one chapter has been uploaded).

Give the God Eater game thread some love!Yeah...although I don't know if that chapter was written before or after the anime episode.
Episode 7: Kazuma is a really good character. I have been looking forward to seeing him since reading the manga and I can't wait to see more!
Those two little opposite gender twin shinki are adorable.
And the drama with kleptomaniac! Yukine intensifies...
No, please don't leave that in charge of a business...
Yato is really determined to keep Yukine despite Yukine's misdeeds killing Yato...he definitely does not see him as a tool.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.I guess the plan is to make Yato look good by making Yukine even more of a jerk.
I'm gonna say that's probably not the best choice of temp help. More like the worst.
The Regalia's really kinda get a sucky deal in this universe don't they?
This ends with Yato making Hiyori into a half spirit Regalia doesn't it?
I like that the gods are fairly morally ambiguous.
I don't know if that spoilered bit ever happens, but not in this arc or the one after it. Yato and Yukine are purified, and Yukine goes from being a jerk to 100% nice guy.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Wasn't entirely serious with it, it's sorta an obvious end to the shiptease. Hiyori MM Aing things is hilarious and it would nice to see more of it(and if she were actually useful). Also, most of these humanoid weapon series have some form of self-wielding, like in Soul Eater.
Most likely, Hiyori is going to be the one who mends the two male's relationship, since she's not being a jerk to anybody.
Sadly, I'm predicting a Distressed Damsel moment where the two pull their shit together to save her.
The answer's in chapter 11...and probably next episode. You're wrong about the Distressed Damsel bit and Hiyori is a great help but not solely responsible for the mend.
Yukine really does turn around and become as little of a jerk as anyone very rapidly when it does happen.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Hate to burst your bubbles, but its already been confirmed the anime is going to get an anime original character◊. Considering this is a BONES show, you folks should know what to expect whenever BONES introduces an anime-only character into any of its adaptations.

That usually suggests a Gecko Ending will happen.
What's precedent ever done for us?Hmmm...we caught a glimpse of that guy last episode.
Episode 8! Okay, I know we need to cement Yato's Butt-Monkey status now and then, but Unprovoked Pervert Payback isn't funny anymore (although to be expected in this scenario). Anyway. I really like this story about the boy being bullied by his classmates. Yato's handling of it was insane, but it worked out great. The payoff is so badass.
This isn't a new thing, but the way the ayakashi speak is really surreal, creepy but also nice to listen to.
Kofuku, always such a cutie.
God dang, Yukine. Extremely unstable, that boy.
And we leave off at the most unbearable Cliffhanger EVER.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot. This cliffhanger is going to kill me. That's it, I'm reading the manga. This just gets better and better. I'd hate Yukine as a person, but goddamn is he as a character really well-done so far. That new kid and the knife confrontation scene was intense and gold.
Yay, Hiyori pantyshot
"And you must be Jonathan Joestar!" - SueBadass all-mighty spirit. Owns 5 assistants. ..... let's a moe blob caress her face.
:3
Not knowing how it turned out, I got the impression that Yato simply doesn't give a damm anymore, about anything.
Look at it like this, he is homeless, does not have anyone he can truly count on, any regalia he get will abandon him at the first chance they get and he spend his days doing odd jobs for a unreachable goal. He getting Yukine was a desperate move and he didn't really do anything to stop the clusterfuck coming bacause he let the kid run wild.
Again, that's just the impression I got. Of someone too tired and full of regret to really care about his approaching demise.

The never said what Yato is, right? Me, I think he's a war god in a country that hasn't had one in ~70 years. So he's doing the "old soldier" routine. It almost has to be something like that to explain him surviving against Bishamon, and it would explain why he gets along with Kofuku also.
I'll be glad when this Yukine thing wraps up. He's getting kinda annoying. I liked M* pulling himself out of the angst however.
Yeah, he is a god of battle...I thought they did explain it already. That's what his background of killing people is about.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.So, Noragami follows a god's mental breakdown.
Manabu for most badass one-off minor character ever?
Give the God Eater game thread some love!YES.
That does it, I'm reading the manga after the anime ends.
Chapter 5 of Shuuishuu: Search-engine gods exist. As do computer shinki.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot. Why'd the scanlators skip chapters 2 to 4?
Give the God Eater game thread some love!
Sorry it was SHINTO beliefs, not Buddhism.
