But wait, then where does the pre-FP universe seen in Convergence fit in? I'm very confused.

It's more like an exact copy of the last universe crossed with a few others and missing 10 years.

The remains of the last one were eaten by the Gentry and their leader.

Also, Mr. Mxyzptlk was one of three possible characters teased to maybe join the Suicide Squad for an arc but it looks like Zod will be the one instead. He was also in a backup story in American Alien.

Well it seemed fine as of Convergence, and so did the universe before that one and the one before that one. Either the Gentry worked really fast or there's something else at play here - and, of course, Morrison isn't done with the story yet.

Convergence was basically a love letter to all previous versions of the DC universe, as well as alternate universes. I really think DC didn't know how much of an impact it would have, but then they realized that when Superman: Lois and Clark was outselling the New 52 Superman and a new idea was born which was, frankly, better than the old one (the fact that the New 52 was the same as the old universe, just missing ten years and mixed with Vertigo and Wildstorm universes).

Which means that all the characters in the Pre-Flashpoint DC Gotham in Convergence were able to go home at the end of the crossover, but were then hit by the Flashpoint and became the characters we see currently. The only ones that escaped the Flashpoint (and the subsequent missing ten years) were the ones had to go back and stop the original Crisis — Pre-Flashpoint Clark and Lois (and Jon), Post-Zero Hour Hal Jordan, and Pre-Crisis Barry Allen and Supergirl. We've already seen Pre-Flashpoint Clark, Lois, Jon, and Post-Zero Hour Hal in the New 52, while I think we saw an image of Barry and Supergirl going off somewhere else.

So the Wally West from Convergence is the same Wally West as in Rebirth, just missing ten years (which means his children have been erased — something I'm not sure he remembers).

Wait, Pre-Crisis Supergirl is in this as well?

...has the power scale for Kryptonians been destroyed yet by her, since she should be more OP than either Superman we've seen in Rebirth?

The three people were Zod, Doomsday, and Mr. Mxyzptlk.

You don't exactly join the Squad. Well you can but most of the time your forced into & heavily controlled whether physically (bombs in your necks) or psychology (Waller getting Deadshot's loyalty by using his daughter).

Though that just makes me wonder how the fuck Waller is able to control fucking Kryptonians in any way. You can't just easily threaten Zod or Doomsday into compliance after all.

Also I think Jason would make a good squaddie. He meet even be a voluntary member, agreeing with Waller's idea as well the fact he may be a little suicidal himself.

Also, Jason should join if only so he can get some DAMN therapy. I actually have a soft spot for Jason if only that I want to him to finally get over his daddy issues and become, you know, happy. Happiness is allowed in the DC Universe right now, right?

Seriously, Jason needs some help. He's a angry, brutal jerk but Batman has not done much if anything (please correct me if I'm wrong) to help him before or after his death or tell him that he's a shithead but he's still as much as one of his sons as Drake or Greyson, if that would help.

@Hamburger Time presumably the characters that were returned to the pre-flashpoint timeline right when they left which was when the flashpoint hit. so they they got changed and then changed again when the universe was turned back to normal and had 10 years stolen. it's the same universe, someone just fucked with the timeline and removed bits and pieces equaling about 10 years like a jenga tower.

the only ones who escaped the whole thing from the pre-flashpoint timeline were clark, lois and their kid.

Wally was remade but was never shown because somewhere in the 5 year gap between JL starting and every other book he and his friends were the teen titans until kadabra sent wally into the speed force and they had to forget each other to seal mr. twister. Wally does have memories of the past timeline through speed force. and one of the panels shown when he was trying to get out of the speed force showed his kids, so presumably he did remember until this timeline started to overwrite the memories of the old one. the only thing he remembers and can think about from the old one at this point seems to be "I was married to Linda Park"

I'm surprised anyone remembered Wild Dog enough to do anything with him. What's next, Silverblade? The Electric Warrior? A cameo appearance by The Lords of the Ultra-Realm, or the folks from Barren Earth? Angel Love? Kudos to you if you've heard of any of those.

I could see Zod, or Mxyzptlk (forgive me if I spelled that wrong) showing up in the Suicide Squad, but I can't really see anyone coercing them into joining. Hell, Superman's goal in dealing with Mxyzptlk is usually just to get rid of him; how could anyone make him do anything?

They couldn't be coerced. But they might(yeah right) join for the lulz. Or reverse psychology, somehow.

Zod might join to win a bet with some other phantom zoner that he can join the Suicide Squad, and mess with the Puny Earthlings without getting sent back to the Zone immediately. Which means he can't kill anyone or he'll have an angry Kryptonian(Superman, duh!) after him. If he just pals around with the squad, he can have some time outside of the zone to plan for some greater scheme. Except that it would be overkill to have a Kryptonian on the Squad! DC Comics has to be trolling us... I'm starting to think that the editors are the fifth dimensional imps!
