Well, part of their colours are different (dark blue vs. pale yellow)...
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman+1 to pull for both quality issues and not really being a good illustration of the trope. I'm thinking this may be a BUPKIS case.
Raava vs. Vaatu?◊ I can get a better image from a screenshot.

Aye, that will have to be much larger.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI agree, but it's so new, that there aren't really any good images, yet. I'll do that tonight unless someone beats me to it.

Seems OK for me.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWell, it's better.
Check out my fanfiction!8 is good enough for Keep Until Better Image Suggested in my book.
8 is a definite improvement. Would a tighter crop on them help make the details more clear, or is everyone happy with it as is?

Personally, I like the wider version because the background to me makes it look like a fight between two things that are important for the whole place (—> which is what the trope concept is about) instead of just being two different sides.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanRaava blends into the clouds a bit in that frame, so a different frame could be an improvement, but it's still good.
Rhymes with "Protracted."The important, defining characteristic of the trope is not that the battling entities are very powerful, or primal forces, or that they are diametrically opposed. The important thing is that they are both absolutely undefeatable, such that the conflict becomes logically paradoxical. Does either image demonstrate that? Do the depicted creatures fit that description. Any image used should show that the conflict is a paradox, not just that it's between diametrically opposed forces.
Don't know about the current, but Raava and Vaatu (from The Legend of Korra) are two powerful spirits on the opposite sides of the same coin. Raava (blue) is the spirit of order and peace, and Vaatu (red) is the spirit of darkness and chaos. They are also opposite gender (Raava is female and Vaatu is male) and are inverts of each others' color.
They battle every 10,000 years, are equal in power, unless the balance is disturbed, and can never truly destroy the other. For even if one spirit does defeat the other, then it will be restored by the next 10,000 year cycle.
So, yeah, it definitely fits.
Go ahead.

Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.I hope you don't mind if I add that into the article with more or less that exact wording.
Moon◊It doesn't work. They can defeat each other, even if only in the individual conflicts, so the conflict isn't paradoxical. It has to be an irresolvable contradiction in reality to count.
Uh... the description is "Two forces exist within the same 'verse. Both of them are unbreakable absolutes. And they are diametric opposites. Naturally, this raises one question in everyone's mind: What happens when they fight?".
Can't really see the issue - at least not one that a good caption can easily fix without too many problems.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThe issue here is that second sentence: "Both of them are unbreakable absolutes." Raava and Vaatu aren't absolutes if they can defeat each other. With them it's just Mutual Disadvantage or Sealed Evil in a Duel, not this. This is for stuff like Unstoppable Force vs. Immovable Object, Unblockable Spear vs. Unbreakable Shield, Fox That Can't Be Caught vs. Hound That Can Catch Anything, and so on.
Um, I think you're looking into this way too specifically. One of the criteria is: "Both forces are completely evenly matched, so they clash forever or until some outside force intervenes." Which is exactly what happens until Wan intervenes.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed. The white being in 8 isn't very apparent though...
I was thinking of Zekrom vs Reshiram◊, but it doesn't seem to be an official art.
Them being evenly matched isn't a requirement.
Check out my fanfiction! The Pokémon ones don't really work.
The third Raava vs Vaatu is a little clearer than 8.

Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
Maybe I'm nitpicking, but the picture on Yin-Yang Clash hardly demonstrate the trope. It says "two diametrally opposed forces in the same universe clash with each other". The image is that of two pallete-swapped giant monsters struggling. It could maybe make one think of a Mirror Match, but there's no hint they're opposing primal forces.
Honestly, I'm not sure this one can be illustrated at all.
