Honestly, I kinda hope it's Cataclysm Garrosh and not MoP Garrosh.

Is there even a "best Garrosh"? His character is all over the place.

He may be one of the biggest Base Breaking Characters of Blizzard history.

The only advantage I can see to using MoP Garrosh is Y'Shaarj powers which, not gonna lie, would be pretty sweet.

This song needs more love.

I fully expect them to have him use Y'shaarj powers, simply because I don't see a good way to differentiate him from Colossus Smash Varian and/or Sonya otherwise.

Garrosh and Varian were I think in practice 'originally atleast' suppose to be counterparts to each other

While Varian ultimately does get over his hate and seeks to mend fences he burned or atleast acknowledge the greater threat, Garrosh basically follows in the footsteps of Blackhand, Doom Hammer and his father and ultimately becomes the thing he swears he never would be.

Now this obviously doesn't excuse the tendency for Wo W to vilify the horde for the sake of conflict

Really the big problem with Wo W is it trying to keep the alliance/Horde Dynamic when at this point... both basically need each other to the point the factions should just be a unified front to defend Azeroth

Kael is pretty much his WC 3 self with tempest keep powers so You could make a Garrosh a hybird fighter with Grom being the pure melee warrior?

Cataclysm Garrosh. He's still big on war, but he's actually honourable. and took Saurfang's advice in WotLK to heart.

I really don't want supremacist Garrosh from MoP and neither do I want hothead Garrosh from WotLK.

The trend overall seems to go towards "take the most popular/the best incarnation" - that would actually be Cataclysm Garrosh.

I honestly had no problems with Garrosh. Or rather, no overly strong feelings. He's... pretty okay. Though I admit the WOW writers are hacks that he got messy...

If anything, this feels like more Cata/Wrath Garrosh, since he doesn't have Old Gods corruption and has his usual armor (I dunno the details but is it Warchief armor or not?).

Still, I'm looking for that image of 'Expecting Grom, but it was I, Garrosh.' I swear I saw that somewhere...

@Frozen: a lot seems to think that if conflict is removed from the two, it will not be Warcraft anymore. I say screw that, if it means changing the name into Peacecraft, so be it. Azeroth deserve peace or 'burying hatchet'. What's the message they want to achieve? War Is Hell or War Is Glorious?

One positive angle is D.va mains Garrosh in Fighters of the Storm so.... her meeting Garrosh is a good opportunity for laughs.

"Blademaster Barrage?! No, I don't do that, get out of my face you tiny weakling!"

Metzen mentioned that Garrosh was always supposed to become a villain, but not until several expansions down the road. It wasn't until development on Mo P started that they realized that "Hey this expansion is all about the horrors of war the inner demons of the Horde and the Alliance, this is the perfect expansion for Garrosh's Heel–Face Turn". This forced them to cram what was originally meant to be a multi-year gradual character arc into a single expansion, and is most likely the reason for why Garrosh's plotline turned out like it did.

All in all, it seems like a variation of Symmetra's quotes can sum it up:

"The true enemy of Azeroth is disordered writing team."

On that matter, how do you think Symmetra would translate to HOTS?

I think her teleported would overlap with Medivh but i think it's different enough to work. Her shield gen i'm not sure how would it work.

There should be a lot of ideas on that in Heroesfire site. I'm too stumped to make an idea for any character like that.

Teleporter is fairly unique; one-way teleport from spawn that can be destroyed. More problematic is her turrets; "hold several charges of turrets that can be placed individually" is literally Gazlowe's turrets.

Garrosh's moveset is out and... he's not being Son of Hellscream...

He's more like a bastard child of Darius and Axe. With Tiny's Toss.

So there is still some room for Gromm to be the aggresive assassin. Honestly my prediction for Garrosh wasn't all that off.

Now the question is, will Gromm also have Gorehowl?

Garrosh has some real trolling potential. For instance, you can throw an ally to the middle of enemy team and call it a day. So if Garrosh is hated, you can make him more hated!

That said, I'm not using that strategy. As a normal hero, he looks fun to use.

Also in terms of Symmetra before, I believe that they won't include her until the OW story advances to the point she has a Character Development. I don't think people want to play as a zealot of something that's more squarely hated without Broken Base than Garrosh himself...

Look like Cata! Garrosh slightly before the start of MOP. So his descent of evil is starting, just not quite there.

Also, quite happy to hear Patrick Seitz in one of his probably more famous roles.

Wiki-related possible problem.

Someone claims that Blizzard put up a list of Hero Theme Songs for each heroes. I'm not sure how credible it is considering that they don't put up links. Can anyone confirm?

here is what they were referring to but unofficial songs do not belong on the page. It's a strictly Just for Fun thing.

Each hero has an official theme song but they are elements of their game's soundtrack, which would be that trope. IE

• Varian's theme is a rock version of Stormwind's theme,
• Valeera uses the Blood Elf intro music from Wo W,
• Cho'gall uses the Throne of Thunder trailer music
• D.Va's is the year of the rooster theme,
• Zul'jin uses an epic remix of Zul Gurub's theme,
• Chromie uses a remix of the Gnomes theme and Culling of Strathome,
• ETC has an instrumental Rogues Do it theme.

I believe that every new character has their own theme in game. The only ones missing one is the launch characters I believe.

Maybe you should try editing that with those reasons, Memers. If I'm the one saying that, they may think I'm doing an Edit War. Or should I go for Ask The Tropers first?

Probably ask the tropers, IMO that is something that shouldn't be on trivia pages. Possibly a Just for Fun subpage.

Gathering what each character's Leitmotif is and where it is from could make a good replacement though.

Don't forget the poor minions...
