Optimus just looks like a regular truck in that pic. Magnus works better, but I still prefer my original suggestion.
My issue with OP is it's so exaggerated that it doesn't really jive with most of the examples, which are more mundane. It's still this trope, but I feel like it illustrates others better (like Desert Punk or weaponized Vehicle).
I like the Prime since it's leading a convoy of cool cars, and Magnus since it's a fairly mundane, but cool rig clearly doing something badass.
I mean, OP is still a huge step up from current. I just think something less exaggerated would be even better.

I thought about suggesting Optimus' truck form from Transformers, but while he looks really cool, he's not necessarily "badass", which for me is a problem with all of the suggestions aside from the OP.
