Serious interest checking on a Super Robot Wars RP based on tokusatsu

Based on this post, I just want to gauge interest in doing a Super Robot Wars/Taisen RP based on Toku stuff, but it's limited to Metal Heroes, Super Sentai/Power Rangers and Kamen Riders alongside Asian-made toku stuff like Kaiketsu Zubat and the Japanese version of Spider-Man.

This doesn't take into consideration the overlapping definition of tokusatsu, which would include the Stargate franchise and the Doctor Who franchise.

Some interest. >.>

Just need to figure out which Kamen Rider to use, I guess.

Tentatively interested. Possibly going with Kamen Rider Fourze.

If it's Super Robot Wars, would that mean that characters who don't normally have mecha would get them?

No. We're just playing heroes from the Kamen Rider, Super Sentai/Power Rangers, Metal Heroes and general Asian toku shows.

There was a SRW signup, but that closed due to lack of interest after I saw signs that people wanted to join.

I'll wait for a few days to see if there are more people interested. Then, I'll put a signup.

Also, I'll probably use a Metal Hero or a Power Ranger.

So... Stuff I'm considering:

• Kamen Rider Double - Although there's the problem of finding someone to play the half of him I'm not playing.
• Kamen Rider OOO - Not entirely sure about this one, since it would be a nightmare keeping check of all those Core Medals.
• Kamen Rider Fourze - Was going to be my fallback if I couldn't think of anything else (he'd be too easy for me to play, ahah), although since someone else expressed interest in him first I guess he's a bit less likely at the moment.
• Kamen Rider Birth - Main problem is obvious: Date or Gotou? Hmmm...
• Kamen Rider G - ...Might be a little too silly, but...
• Kamen Rider Shin - Pretty much has the exact opposite problem that G has.

...Hmmm... Really need to think about this...

I like G 'cause of the wine motif.

Shin... haven't seen it yet. But I heard about the reputation it has...

Shin was unfortunately the first appearance of the Darker and Edgier route the series took which carried over into the reboot films.

I remember watching the first two reboot movies based on the Double Riders. Rumor has it that another one was suppose to be done with Riderman, but that never came out.

Only thing I didn't like about the second movie is that the J-Horror angle didn't resolve itself and it became a Japanese urban legend. Otherwise, I like the appearance of the Shocker combatmen and the Shocker-made Riders.

I'm trying to decide between...

• Kamen Rider Accel: Main problem being that Trial might be a bit problematic.
• Kamen Rider OOO: See Moe's post for why this could be a headache.
• Kamen Rider Meteor: As much as I love disco Bruce Lee, he's kind of a massive jerk at first.
• Kamen Rider Den O: Main problem is that I've only seen the first 14 episodes...and the sub quality is bad enough that my progress is kind of slow...
• Kyosuke Jinnai: I'm not sure how well he'd work without the other Carrangers...or if he'd be too silly.
• Kaiketsu Zubat: Main problem is the fact that as far as I can tell, a little over half of the series has been subtitled.

@Moe: I wouldn't mind playing half of Double, if you choose to use him.

Yeeeaaah, and therein lies the other reason why me playing part of Double would be... Problematic. >.> <.<

...I guess G might be a more serious option now, then, as long as everyone doesn't think he'd make things a little too silly. But still got plenty of other ideas to whittle down. Hmmm.

I suppose there is also one of the Akibarangers too, but not only would they be waaay too silly, the way their powers work means they probably aren't a viable choice.

Here's something to help. Although I raise an eyebrow that tokusatsu is applied for Tir Na Nog. To be fair, I never watched it since it wasn't interesting.

Time to use the SPIRITS variation of the Badan Empire as the main bad guy.

Color me interested.

Hm... Maybe I should roll with the Alien Slime. Or one of the Bats.

Have a taste... Of my unique pairing of justice and darkness!

By which I mean yeah probably going with the silly option and playing as the Lonely Warrior of Love, Kamen Rider G. >.> <.< Just need to work on my wine puns, and figure out something I could possibly do for a Mid-Season Upgrade if he starts to seem underpowered. But at least that's that sorted for now.
